Century 2535 Electrical Problem

First Does anyone have the electrical wiring diagram for the Century 2535 Tractor, I guess it is a 2004 model, that can be Emailed or mailed to me. My local Century dealer is no help.

Problem was I was using the tractor earlier in the day, when I went to start it again in the afternoon, I had nothing, no panel lights, couldn't hear the fuel pump running, no lights, etc, nothing. Played around with it all that day and the next, with nothing working, tried calling my local dealer, but he was no help. The next day I decided I would pull the Main Switch (Ignition Key SW) and check it, since that seemed about the only thing that would effect all the elecrical. But decided to give it one more chance, stuck the key in, panels light came on, I could hear the pump running and it started fine. It's been three days now and I have not had any further problems. However I would like some ideas in case it happens again. At least if I could get the wiring diagram, I could logically trace the various circuits, without it I'm kind of shooting in the dark trying to guess what does what.

Any help would be appreciated.

My 3510 which is the same tractor as yours, did the same thing to me about a year and a half ago. It didn't do anything when I turned the key, just like yours. I took out the battery and cleaned the posts, put it on the charger, and it was fully charged already, so I put it back in and tried the key again and it fired right up. It's never happened again, and I've had the tractor for over 3 yrs. now.

I had the same situation on my Century and it turned out to be the ground connection on the battery cable where it connects to the frame, it is under the tractor frame.

It just happen to mine yesterday with 50 hrs on it. I checked a few things and then got mad and kicked the battery box and it took right off..

I am undecided has to get me some steel toed boots and keep kicking it or to tighten all the terminals...decisions decisions..

Thanks for the help. I have not had the problem recur, however I think everyones help has solved the problem. I always check the battery terminals during routine maintenance, but not the other ends of the cables. It was the negative battery terminal where it connects to the frame. It was corroded, it is nice and clean now so will see what happens. Also thanks very much for the wiring diagram. It sure helps when you have something to help map where you are going.

Next question, Micro Pilot gave me the Manual order number as 948882, where can I order this book from? My local dealer seems to have no knowledge of any manual for this tractor, maybe it's because he wants me to bring it to him.

Nice to hear it was a simple fix.

On my 2535, I had the blinker unit stay on and drain the battery until it was dead. I pulled the fuse and solved the problem that way. My dealer said it was a common problem and gave me a new blinker relay. He said that if it was stored outside, the relay gets wet and starts to drain the battery.

arrggh...
went to start the tractor yesterday to do some mowing and nothing.
open the hood and there's sign that something's been under the hood nibbling.
the big bundle coming off the alternator has a connection that went from a red and white pair of wires to a red and yellow pair - and the wires were chewed off from connector to connector.

any idea where I can find this?

there is another pair of wires up near the firewall that i can't find where they would have connected to anything, and that's sheared off, as well. (factory taped off, with some bare ends sticking out that look chewed)

any advice/suggestions would be welcome. (including ways to keep critters out from under the hood)

I do have an idea. Micropilot had posted a wiring diagram for the Century tractor. It was hard to read due to the lower res. so he could post it. He was nice enough to e-mail me the diagram and it was much clearer to read. It has the info on the wires at the generator and the general area where the wires should connect to. Maybe he can help once again.
