Chain Hooks

Correct, except you didn't explain that the "1" at the end identifies it as a rod that can be used any any plane (flate, overhead, etc.). 2nd, I'm not sure why a second pass would be necessary, if the first pass penetrates, he's not going to be able to lift the capacity of the weld with his loader/tractor anyway. Correct, it will burn thru just about anything, and yes I use it in the field with a Miller Trailblazer. Finally, I'm not adverse to spatter, if the rod penetrates and the weld holds. Also sorry for the long reply. BobG in VA

Anybody else know a good source to buy one?

My John Deere dealer had a box full of them. He threw in welding 3 of them on the FEL bucket at no cost, so they must be cheap. (He charged me for a $15 locking fuel cap).

Inspector,
That's where I bought mine. They are very inexpensive, come in a variety of sizes and ship same day. I bought several spares to weld onto implements so I can move them without hooking them up to the tractor 3 point. Came in real handy.

Thanks for the reminder. I just ordered a half dozen weld-on hooks from AW.
