Must be a local preference, in the US the preference is definately Stihl, then Husky.

To my knowlege stihl do not make a saw that can be operated with one hand that is why they are not used for pruning the other two have top handles. (see the attachment0

I'm not far from Cut n Shoot and I am in the market for a Stihl. Who is the dealer there? Thanks
Jerry

I know what you mean about two hands.. the stihl we have at work came with some god-awfull long bar.. like 5' or something.. and it has a compression release on it for starting.... a hand held device that needs a compression release... don't that beat all...

I have a couple Stihls and they are fine saws ... I let one idle for a couple of minutes and now I need to replace the clutch ... the dealer warned me about that but I just got to busy .. I don't think that should have happened ... anyway I'm going to tear into it so and see what happened ...
I have seen some rather small Stihls used for pruning .. they were very light and could be handled by one hand but not by me ... I don't like that idea ...

I was using a Stihl pruning saw (has carabiner tabs on bottom)
to clear off a 90' high rappelling wall at Scout camp.
6 hrs. of hanging around fun.

Stihl and Husky make one hand saws, although for legal liability they do not advertise that... The Husky is a 335XPT. I've handled one at the local shop; it is wonderful.

I have not seen a sthil with a top handle designed for pruning, so could someone attach a photo of one and any other details.

Jerry,
In case you did not get my e-mail, I bought my saw at Top Flight Trailer Sales on 105 in Cut N Shoot. 936-756-9797 ask for Lionus. I've never seen so many Stihl saws in one place

Look like you have got quite a bit of advice so I will give you mine. Being a small engine machanic I advise you to stick with one of the better quality saws. Also one that you can get parts for locally. Sooner or later you will need something and It usually breaks on a weekend when you need it
