Thanks, Mark! I actually get that in regard to the Mobley.

btw, apologies that I got carried away supporting(?) that I've indeed been 'throttled' vs 'impaired'!

With AT&T this one plays really well now.

Mobley came unactivated. Try to activate via web....failed, because my id/password got hosed, and was forced to call.

It took 4 different phone calls and about 2 hours. I asked on one call "you don't even know what a Mobley is, do you"...laughed and said no. The accents made me SCREAM. But finally...got it activated. They didn't say a word about a fee to do so.

Glad that you got it activated. Sure wish I had those speeds.

Showing 2 bars of signal and -109 dBm on the AT&T Wi-Fi Manager (url is 192.168.1.1).

getting ready to pull the trigger on this, but the $45 activation fee really rubs me the wrong way.
I did a chat with a rep and laid it out that if they could waive the activation I would get it. She couldn't, so I won't.

For what it's worth, for whatever reason, it appears I had no activation fee at all.

I need to route this Mobley. Will a cat5 to usb connector allow the Mobley to hook to my existing router that has no usb connection?

When you buy directly from ATT there is no activation fee if you pay $99 for the device (no 2 year contract).

I have a feeling that AT&T will cancel me at some time for using it at home and streaming, so I didn't want to pay up front. $45 with a 2 year or $99 with no contract would be a no brainer, but I will be going another direction I think. Years back I got stuck with an expensive phone I couldn't use after the carrier decided to change their broadcast technology. once bitten twice shy.

People have been using it these for almost 2 years now without any problems. Not to say it will last forever but for the price if it only last a few years it still pays for itself easily.
