I have a couple of attachments that work in conjunction with my rear ballast. One's narrow for wire, and the other opens up about a 4" wide trough. With the help of the weights they will go down about a foot.

That is a neat rig and a good use for those barbell weights that are always in the way.

I love it, great finding a clever use for something I already own.

Has anyone made a cheap cable trencher attachment for installing wire about six inches down? We'll be installing some invisible fencing for the pup.

Shove milk bones in the ground around the perimeter, just follow the dog, he'll make a trench.

I wish I could do something like that around here but with amount of large rocks I have growing in the dirt I don't think I could make it more than a few feet.

I posted a video on YouTube a while ago showing a simple homemade trencher that couples to the FEL of my Kubota. The trencher is made from a length of angle iron and is attached to the bucket with chains and load binders. Already used it successfully to dig a shallow trench to run cables to my weather station and security camera. Here's a link to the video. If the link doesn't work (I'm not quite sure how to insert here) search Youtube for nlinventor's channel and see the trencher video and other tractor videos, there.

Are you sure the signal can penetrate 6"? I used an edger and only went down an inch or so.
