I can't find the answer in the manual. Do you screw the cap with the dipstick in or not to get reading on the stick? My guess is screwing it in, but I need confirmation. CK3510 By the way

You're right it does not specify fully tightened or just dip it in once you remove it. I've always screwed it back in just as it sits when operating to check the level, once I remove it, wipe it clean that is. On my CK3510

I went with not screwing it in. The wording in the manual made it sound like that was the way to go. Either way is ok,I'm sure. I did learn to wait 10 to 15 minutes after adding or draining before checking to give the fluid a chance to level out. That's from the manual too.

You may want to check to see if your front axle dipstick is not flowing air. See my solution in the following thread:

My 2005 has a sight gage. My Brother-in -Law's 3 years newer also a DK45 does not. Not sure why they went away from a simple method.
