Prokop, I'm betting Robert's frame might even help out in the ordinary type bender it was in not too long ago. A cage just naturally has to give you more protection.:D

Add some nice harness and do it properly. The family gets older and chances are they will want to steer it around the yard and out the driveway the odd time or two!:D

Robert, I didn't write it right. It should not anchor to the windshield but to the cowl - like OR FAB

I think a buddy of mine put something similar in his Wrangler. I think it still has some square tube or somethingthat ties it to the floor and frame.

I grew up in MB's and CJ2a's, then had short fender(pre '72) CJ5's. They had no room to begin with; add a cage kit, and getting in/out was even more fun :D These CJ7's and Wranglers have miles of room in them :D

I looked at their website. I'm not my friends kit is the same brand, but it is very very similar if not.

He has the complete floor tie kit, the dash bar, and a couple of streamers as they call them. He mad an overhead CB radio mount on the streamers. He also added some support in the back roll bar area; he has a 5 and 7 year old so wanted more protection for them. I do not see those bars on the website.

It was all clamp-on too, so he didn't have to weld on his ROPS, uh, I mean rollbar. They do make the precut weld in stuff too though. The clamp on stuff was nice, not because of any affect it might have welding on the ROPS/rollbar, but because these newer Jeeps have so much carpet, padding, plastic consoles etc that the older rigs did not. Hard to weld in them without splatter/slag ect leaving marks all over.

He has a hard top and soft top; this type kit lets you roll down the manual windows without making shorty window handles too.

Notching tubing, works like a charm. Was lucky to find plastic tube of the same diameter to test every cut first.

And yes, it is an exhaust clamp.

Interesting thing happened. This lady, friend of ours, said she would not trust the jeep since I have it all apart putting it back together. Well, she trusts a cart that some waged labor union worker put together on an assembly line and some other waged guy maintains to keep running. She trusts her life to an airplane maintained by employees and kept in the air by air traffic controllers.

Nothing against wages or labor union, but I think she is bit off:D

I would like to call it done, but there are still few problems with the electricity. Like back up lights and that d@mn fuse that keeps burning, not sure why.
But the jeep is driveable and driven daily.

Looking good, glad you got her back on the road. Now all we need to do is get a set of Rockwell axles under there and some 60"+ tires. :D

Just curious, what similar vehicle would you have had in the old country?
