clearing fields, creating vegetable patches

I have shared we are in the process of clearing parts of the family farm to creat a vegetable farm. We mowed this field with a bush hog and the picture shows the disc plow cutting through many of the roots. I have cleared about 5 acres of brush with the mower or FEL and raise produce on it to sell to 7 local restaurants and retail customers. This picture shows my brother and nephew plowing and discing. The disc plow did not cut through all the roots but it did make progress.

Jim, time might be critical for you, but I think you would have an easier time discing if you plowed, then waited until it was rained on once (and dried out), then disced.

With the moisture churned up plowing, I'm not sure it would disc very easily. Even waiting a coupla days for it to dry out should make it easier.

But, if you are in a hurry, go for it.
