Walker, you are the working man!!! I do a little brush piling on my place, but not near as fast as you. I love it when those cedars go up in flames. Great pictures and videos. That spot sure has good looking sunsets. You will need to position your house to take advantage of that. When you said there was a backhoe parked in the road, and the operator was gone to lunch, I was thinking you were going to use it while he was gone. Ha.

I though the same when I read it.

walker450 Congratulations on that great looking boy!

You get a pass on posting pics but you can still post baby pics!

Us old grandpa's understand about that.

Congratulations on your new son!

Brings back memories. Our first son was born in 1974 when fathers in the delivery room (no thought was given to any meaningful participation ) was still fairly new. The doctor had me suited up and told me to sit on a stool next to my wife, and if I fainted I would just have to lay there, because he would be busy. I gave good moral support I think.

Thanks for all of the kind words everyone!

I rented a CAT D5 to remove some trees and build a pad for the house and future shop. I've already removed the trees and also created a circle drive too! The top soil is stripped and after I post these pics and finish my coffee I'll grab the laser and go set grade stakes for our future home!!

To anyone that is considering renting a dozer... I say go for it. If you enjoy operating your tractor you will most likely enjoy operating a dozer. Luckily they had one with a cab which makes it much nicer! The rippers came in handy for removing roots.

Here it is, CAT D5K2 XL:

Our house will be part way up this hill, I'm standing where the driveway will be:
