Clearing snow (3 kilometer long wood trail)

In the OP’s location he could get by with just the bucket. A blower would be nice though.

Plows and rear blades may work a few times but then the sides build up leaving no place for snow. Then snowdrifts also have to be considered. Many times the road will be blown in to the height of the side windrows And be packed in.

I have a mile long gravel driveway plus mailbox area and yard. For 27 years I used a blower on my 3-point. It worked very nicely. At the end of the 27 years - I was older and all the "driving/blowing" in reverse got real old. Shoulder/neck pain. The blower was on a Ford 1700 4WD.

I got a very HD rear blade on my new Kubota M6040. I can keep the driveway open with this unit. With my M6040 set up as it now is - I can straddle any berm and move it even further off to the side.

If you get any type of blower - a trip down your wood trail BEFORE snow fall really helps. Clear out all foreign objects(FOD). This saves time replacing shear pins.

My Kubota weighs - 10,100#. FEL with grapple, RimGuard loaded rear tires, HD Rhino rear blade.

While this is true for a front frame mount plow, a FEL plow can pile snow as high as necessary to keep the path clear. I routinely pile snow sometimes 12' high along my woods roads.

I get similar snow here and I use a 6' back blade (one pass there and another on the way back). If the sides get high I use the FEL with a bucket and just push over the top of the banks. It's Cheap and works for other things in the summer.

First I would think with you low height snowfalls, the cheapest would be a rear plow. You have the ground clearance for the snowfall and rear blades are 'inexpensive'. You can also leave FEL on to load wood.
Next, I would suggest a simple used pickup truck plow modified to a quick attach plate. Oh I'm assuming larger Kioti have Quick Attach on their Loaders.
Your machine is stout enough for a very robust FFC or Virnig V plow but you don't get the snow falls to warrant it. These plows are 33" tall and weigh in at about 1000lbs.
Looking for chains? Look at the Trygg Multi Flex. Buy thru the manufacturer and save big over dealer's. There is a manufacturing facility in Canada. I have these on the front on my tractor. See PIC. you may not need chains

Hello everyone,

This is my first time here, just pulled the trigger on a 2022 Kioti DK4210 this week.

I dont have much experience plowing/pushing/blowing snow, so I was wondering what would be the best attachment that I should get to clear the snow in my 3 Kilometer long wood trail?
I just want to make a path wide enough for the tractor to collect wood.
My tractor does'nt have snow chains yet, but my land is pretty flat so I figured I'll wait and see how much traction I'm able to get in the trails.

Oh and by the way we get a fairly decent amount a snow here in Quebec, Canada

There are a lot of choices. Rear mounted blowers are a pain to operate, especially without a cab.
They do a great job as long as you know your terrain.
Front blades only shove snow to the side unless you have an angle type to really move it over. Try to keep snowbanks Low on the Windward (West) side so new snow will not drift in as deep.

That Pronovost logo is too close to the same as my Agro-Trend also made in Quebec. I've had mine for probably 25 years. Pronovost must be a successor to Agro-Trend ?
