( FROM DWIGHT:
1. You have a brand new
L3130 with not much more than 38.5 hrs (about a month ago)
2. At first, you called it a "Renoir masterpiece", now you claim it is "underpowered" and the dealer (nor any TBN members) seem to believe you.
3. Your main complaint is about the ground speed when traveling up a slight incline while steering hard to one side, while you press the HST pedal all the way to the floor, and it smokes some, too into your cab.
4. You had it dyno checked for power and came back satisfactory,
5. Now you think your Renoir masterpiece should be recalled because of a boom pin on your backhoe, but you arent sure if your backhoe is a BH4690 or a BH90,
6. You purchased the lowest powered Grand L series tractor but are using the heaviest implements or features that fits on it, i.e. BH 90 (or BH 4690) backhoe, LA 723 FEL AND wheel ballast AND a Curtis cab, too. One poster estimated maybe as much as 5000# added weight onto your underpowered 3300# tractor.
7. Not one TBN poster has experienced anything similar to what you describe,
8. You claim “trust was misplaced at the dealership”. Your dealer and “all the Kubota reps are in denial and remind you of the Dan Rather/Bush episode…” – I guess that means you were deceived by your dealer. Not only are the TBN posters not believing you, the kubota dealer is against you, too, right?
9. Many TBN posters have tried to help you, me included, to suggest you sell it and move on with life since you went from exhilaration to despair in a month or two. We have offered sympathy and help. What we got in return was not dialog but personal attacks.
10. Ramon49, you have defeated the seat safety switch, yet you claim there are quality control issues with his tractor and it has “poor design”. You said you were an engineer in one post. You of all persons should NOT be defeating designed engineering safety features!!!
11. You have purchased other tractors in the past (kubotas mind you), but still the dealer misplaced your trust on this one, right?
I have to agree with RaT here. Either this tractor has some issues or maybe it’s you.
Response from RAMON:
1.) 40.2 hours now
2.) Wrong! 38%TBN members agree with some of my issues.
3.) Wrong! if I put to floor it would DIE!!!!!
4.) correct
5.) RECALLED for misleading and dangerous BOOM pin and being underpowered. I do apologize for posting BH 90 I thought it was an Acronymn for my 4690b backhoe!
6.) Never posted Ballast R4's, If ballasted I'd have to pull it with my truck.
7.) Correct! not one has had "all" of my issues on one tractor, but certainly you read about all of my issues POPPING up with different posters.
8.) WRONG! no one is aainst me, stop trying to paint a biased picture. Stay focused to the issues or stop responding, please. I'm trying to get to the ROOT cause.
9.) If you feel you've been attacked, I'm sorry you feel that way. What post did I attack you in??? Never meant to ruffle your feathers and YES! there are some real good responses and to those who have patience, I thank you.
10.) The Safety seat switch is a Kubota thing and not mandated by anyone, doesn't mean it's any good! My opinion.
11.) I placed trust in my dealer, Hindsight tells me the dealer may not have spent enough time trying to get to my needs. In 1998 he sold me a BX7300,returned in 2 weeks, grossly wrong application. The
B2400 next, it fit the bill at the time. Currently, wanted higher HP, dealer recommended 7800 I said no, "I want more Power". He recommended the Underpowered 3130. The rest has been posted. I know your going to blame me for whatever! When you make statements that it's me your getting off TOPIC...FOCUS )
Interesting response, Ramon49.
1. 40.2 hrs of total time,
2. I wonder how you do your math? 38% agree with “some” of my issues? How about 62%
disagree with “some” of your issues? Nice try.
3. Ok. It dies. I “focused” on the *
L3130 Underpowered*, the title of your message. You are saying the
L3130 DIES under power. Gee, let’s play word games. But seriously, you need to followup with the altitude possibility. That was a good suggestion to you and may be part of the answer. It deserves genuine followup.
4. –
5. It seems that the dealer promptly took care of this issue. Thankfully, you didn’t get injured. Credit due to the dealer that fixed this promptly – before your 50 service!
6. Ok. I apologize for that one. I misunderstood and thought you had ballasted tires. My mistake.
7. I think I understand this comment.
8. I should have qualified my statement and said, “From my perspective, you appear to think the dealer (and me) are against you.” I do not paint a biased picture. I do not know you. I only know what you write and try and understand what you are trying to say. Ok? This is the first time I recall you saying that you want the ROOT CAUSE of your concern. Yeah, I admit I had trouble staying focused by reading your threads. I had trouble deciding if you were having buyers remorse, venting your feelings or wanting true technical answers. You must remember you didnt offer much info to us TBN'ers at the start. I wonder how many of us had to respond to your posts just to have enough info to offer some rational solutions to your situation.
9. Ramon49, virtually every post, (in my opinion), that you posted was a complaint. That's not an all bad thing. It's one reason this message board exists. I complain, too. But you crossed the line when you claimed that the
L3130 is a poorly designed tractor with quality control issues. I own a perfectly powered
L3130. You are wrong on this one. It is a very well designed tractor. Your tractor may have issues, but you distinctly implied ALL Kubota Grand L-3130 tractors are poorly designed. I take offense to that and it did rufflle my feathers. It’s a machine for cryin out loud. Git er fixed or git rid of it – especially if it doesn’t meet your expectations, just like I have said earlier.
10. A kubota thing? What does that mean? The whole tractor is a kubota thing. You cant wiggle out of that one. Its designed for your personal safety and you defeated that switch. Wrong thing to do. Period. Do you like that switch? Apparently not. And I understand it is YOUR opinion about whether YOU like it or not. But it is still extremely unwise to tamper with engineered safety features, period. Your background is Quality according to your profile. You should understand that whole quality first business. Last time I checked your name wasn’t in MY owners manual, under the safety section…
11. Sounds to me like you have gone thru this drill before. I mean, you have returned a new tractor to the dealer one other time for not having enough power? And now it has happened AGAIN?
Me FOCUS?
