You'll need a real charger in the future. I'd probably buy one and try it first.
My go to pair…You'll need a real charger in the future. I'd probably buy one and try it first.
Clicking or lights mean you have enough voltage and current to the starter solenoid ( clicking) or to the lights but insufficient current flow to the starter or starter has failed.Hello all new to the tractor world. Got a 1626 over the summer it has about 8 hours on it. I must have hit the lights with my knee and killed the battery.
It won’t turn over. Just a clicking sound when the key is on. It doesn’t even try. I took screenshots from a video I took. One shows the dash lights that come on.
This is a common fix for the Mahindra Max and 26 series. Not sure whether you bought a new or older tractor, but might want to check and clean battery terminals and the ground connection. If it’s been sitting for a while might have some corrrosion
If the battery is still in the tractor I'd verify connections FIRST.Most likely issues in order of ease of testing/ resolving.
Verify battery "good" by load testing as this is essential for the next steps - take to auto parts store and they test current output capacity and voltage for free.
Verify the battery connections clean and tight
Verify the ground connection running from battery to machine frame is clean and tight. A dirty/ corroded frame connection is very common and prevents sufficient current flow to the starter.
Starter should be tested last by directly connecting a jumper cable to battery Positive and touching the other end to the contact point on starter where starter solenoid is attached. Is starter is good it will spin up otherwise starter has failed.
