Update,The color coat went on sat the 23rd.The garage door should be installed this wed. WoW, Getting close to having the final inspection.Got the electrical through the attic. Waited for a cool day and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Only installed enough electrical to pass inspection, two outlets on each wall and 4 overhead lights and one exterior light over the walk in door. After the inspection I will install more before the insulation and wall coverings.AS for the floors, I believe I will not epoxy it. Like others have pointed out chipping is not easy to repair. The one last project to the final is to put in a concrete apron to the rear entrance to the back lot. Not quite sure if I'm up to it , so I may call my concrete man back.

I got a colored sealer for my floor in my new barn and have been happy with it. I store my tractor and some other hard edged equipment in it and so far for problem. It was from Sherwin Williams. BTW, the workshop looks great.

Hello all, Hope this changes the title of this posting. The workshop has passed the final and now I start to work on the interior. Still have the Apron on the driveway too.

I moved to the Central Coast area. About 8 miles N of San Luis Obispo and I have to say, I have no regrets about leaving the AV, we love it here. Bought 3 acres with an existing house, that we tore down (it was a disaster) and built a new house and shop. Everyone behind me has at least 160 acres, and I have hunting access on two of thos parcels. One guy (new buyer) has 320 and I haven't met him yet, but keeping fingers crossed on that one. Took a nice forkhorn last year. Had to drive a whole 1 1/2 miles to where I hunt.
We really looked at Tehachapi a lot, but the limited access in and out seemed to always be the stopping point. That and the limited shopping. Beautiful area though, both Stallion and BV.

Thanks for the info. Didn't think of that with the glue. Luckily no problems showed up. I only did that for the house (its ONLY 200 amps, and used 3/0 wire ) I had nothing other than my truck I could have pulled it with. I suppose a work around the glue problem, COULD be to coat only the male part and leave the first 1/4" uncoated. I have seen this done on other applications, and if you put a good amount on it, and twist the pipes when together, the bond is as strong as the pipe. I know that because I have taken those apart, and the weld has totally melted the pieces together. I did use primer on both pieces though. However, I did not do that on mine, honestly never even thought of it. Good to know for the future though.

My ground was and is legal. The setup you describe is what they said I would need IF it were connected to house, even by a phone line, it is not. My power comes right
from my PG&E panel. Everything was fully inspected by county inspectors. They did say if I ever hooked anything to the house' circuits I would have to pull a bare)ground wire.

For my shop, 100 amp, 125ft run with one SLIGHT bend, and one 90 deg near shop and the one from bottom of slab up to box. I used THHN wire, through 2" PVC, and had a pulley hanging from my trusses. I literally had to hang on the mule tape and pull it down about 18" at a time. The wire never made it over the pulley, just the mule tape.

WOW. Very nice looking shop there. I bet you fill it about as fast as I filled my 24x30:thumbsup: Funny how that works out that way.

How big of an apron does Kern Co. require? When my shop finaled, the the inspector had to step down about 14" from my roll up door. The walkout was all he was concerned with, that and the drainage, to make sure it went AWAY from the shop. That was a no-brainer to me.

I do not do well with concrete work myself so i hire all that out. Up here, $5 a sq ft is a steal and that's what I have gotten all my outside work, including shop and spa pad (18x18)

Question, I thought I read early on you were going to do siding? Did I missread or was stucco cheaper. I went with hardi board siding, mainly cause it sits closer to my house than yours does and I wanted it to match.

Beautiful shop, love that big garage door. As far along as you are you can now work off your schedule and without having the worry of permits, contractors schedules or weather.

Handirifle, You sure moved to a nice area. You can do more where you are at,as here we have CC&R's. When you asked about the apron, Our CSD wants one on my back driveway not Kern county. It has to be about 20't the street and at least 10' wide for the driveway width. That will be the last thing I do! Yes, I was going to do lap siding but Home Depot kept telling me that if I ordered at least $3500 in material they would give me a better price than my 10% military discount. When I gave them a order for $5600 they did not want to give me ANY discount. When I asked about the 10% they said they would only give it on the first $2000. That's when I got a price on stucco and it wasn't much more and I did not have to do any of the work. My house is stucco so it matches it nicely! I wish it were larger because like you It will be filled in no time. Have a good fourth!!

Thank You Orange Man, The interior is coming along and I will try to post some pictures ASAP. I'm packing for a trip to Ohio for my 50th class reunion and like always short on time. I just started to move things into the shop. Have to go slow and throw out all the junk I have been keeping for years and don't need. If not I will be storing all the junk I should have thrown out a long time ago. This project will have to wait till My return.
