If you can just push over and then pick up by the roots, do you really need a tree puller? I would think it might be faster, because you could pop out several trees then stack them for burning without having to switch implements.

The tree puller is faster on live cedar trees that are less than 6 inches diameter. Just pull and shake the dirt off of the roots.

Good to hear. Now I'm thinking about foregoing a brush mower for now. Still have one for my old tractor, and if I can just pull out the heavier stuff that may be better.

New question: You have quite a few implements. If you had to narrow it down to 1,2 or 3, what are your most used / important implements?

Thanks!

I couldn't narrow it down to just 3.

But the 3 most used are:

If my wife hadn't bought the Toolcat to help with mowing, I would also keep the 7' brush hog:

Who makes that grapple? I can't seem to find the thread where you said before. You've called it the gorilla grapple, but there are two different manufactures that I've found calling theirs that...

That one is the Loflin Monster Grapple:

Here is a project with the stump bucket from 2016 that I never posted. The county brought out an excavator to remove the silt at the bridge barely visible in the background. They brought it over on our side of the fence and scooped out the area where the V417 is sitting:

It wasn't low enough to the west so I trenched on it over to the tree on the old creek bank:

This is what it looked like later:

Went back with the bucket and dug on past the tree:

Guess I should go back down there and see if it is silted in again.

:drool:Awesome pictures of a true workhorse in action removed for brevity....:)

Now I'm jealous of both your machine and the ease at which you can dig there- I didn't see a single rock or boulder there, and in my neck of the woods, if you put a shovel or loader bucket into the ground, you run about a 50/50 chance that there's something there obstructing your progress and big enough to require remedial excavation to get it out of your way.

Oh we have some rocks here, just none down there where I dug the trench. :)

But you also have the tool to move them when necessary- I gave our little B2320 a [hopefully temporary] BIG smiley face moving 1 large rock in particular while digging our new drainage channels.

I have to get home and then I can upload my rock pictures, I'll include our smiley face tractor, if you don't mind my thread jumping/poaching for a post- I don't think it's worth starting a new thread- unless you think people will contribute to a "How I screwed up [my bucket]" thread...

Thanks for the prompt reply- The rocks just laying there didn't seem like much to write about, but I know you better than to believe that.

...And those same rocks look a dang site bigger with your compact T-H there for comparison...

Yep, post them here, I'd like to see your rock pictures and smiling bucket.
