Set out the first round bale for this fall season:

Dropped it in the horse style bale ring:

Removed the net wrap, pulled up and tied the hay net:

What is the net for? To make the animals eat more slowly?

   / Compact telehandler #343
The net has 2 inch square openings that the horse can get their teeth against the hay and pullout a small bite.

Without the net they grab a big byte, turn their head, start chewing, dropping hay on the ground.

So the net saves a lot of hay.

They are used to a hay bag for the horse trailer:

Unstuckable

This happened in June of 2013. Got motion impaired in a muddy low area next to a creek:
P6070006.JPG

With the boom retracted, pushed the stump bucket all the way down:
P6070024.JPG

Extended the boom while backing up:
P6070025a.JPG

It moved back about 5 feet:
P6070026.JPG

Turned rear wheels away from the trees behind it:
P6070029.JPG

Retracted and lowered the boom all the way, raising the front wheels and extended the boom again:
P6070034.JPG

Notice that it moved over away from the trees behind it.

Retracted boom and lowered it putting the stump bucket all the way down, then extended it again:
P6070039.JPG

Raised the boom and backed up the hill next to the trees:

Removing a small cedar tree from the barb wire fence. Used tree limb loppers and a reciprocating saw to cut the the limbs on the east side:
20211127_150340.jpg

Hooked the chain low on the trunk and pulled away from the T post.
Looking down at the limb cuts so the tree could be pulled leaving the barb wire intact:

Backed up:

Raised it and shook the dirt off of the roots:

Got the second round bale out for this fall season:

Removed the net wrap and set the 5'x6' bale on the 4'x4' plastic pallet:
20211129_145032.jpg

This time we put the hay net over the bale:
20211129_150053.jpg

Then we put the horse style bale ring in place around it:

On 12-28-21 we got the third round bale out for this fall season:
PC280002.JPG

Slid the SSQA into the bale spear, not latched and lifted the bale:
PC280004.JPG

Backed out of the old barn (still not latched) and took it to the horse barn:
PC280009.JPG

My wife is cutting the net wrap prior to setting the 5'x6' bale on the 4'x4' plastic pallet:
PC280011.JPG

This time the bottom of the bale came apart:
PC280012.JPG
PC280013.JPG

We were not able to get the hay net on this one, so we put the horse style bale ring in place on it:
PC280015.JPG

The bale ring is not touching the ground, but the horses don't care!

On January 24th we set out the fourth round bale for this winter season. It is stored with the bale spear in it, hooked the SSQA to the bale spear:

Needed to remove the fence between the old cow barn and the old cow shed:
fence.JPG

Chained and ready to pull it out of the ground:
P1300001.JPG

It moved up some, but the end next to the barn didn't come up. So moved over and pulled it loose:
P1300005.JPG

Moved back near the middle and chained on:
P1300007.JPG

Raised and extended the boom:
P1300009.JPG

Moved forward:
P1300013.JPG

Now I can drive in between the buildings.

Dropped them on the brush pile:

Wife noticed a tree that didn't have green leaves this spring:
P5120018.JPG

All of its branches are on one side, so she was concerned it would hit the trailer barn if and when it fell.

The V417 and stump bucket will eliminate her concern. First push:
P5120036.JPG

The trunk started to break:
P5120037.JPG

Used the stump bucket to break some roots on both sides:
P5120038.JPG
P5120041.JPG

Next push:
P5120043.JPG

Next push, it is moving:
P5120044.JPG

View from the seat, down and out:

It landed right where it needed to land:

That's one thing I miss about my old IH2500b. It could push stuff like that over no problems. Now, on the rare occasion I need to do that, I have to use the chainsaw to fell the tree, then decide if I want to tackle digging the stump or not.... mostly not. ;)

Chained it to the front of the stump bucket:
P5130003.JPG

Raised it up and chained it to the back of the stump bucket:
P5130004.JPG

Raised the boom and headed for the gate into the pasture:
P5130009.JPG

Made it to the pasture, almost to the brush pile:
P5130010.JPG

Unhooked the back chain:
20220513_120020.jpg

Lowered the boom and unhooked the front chain:
20220513_120430.jpg

Found the balance spot:

20220513_121224.jpg

Made it to the brush pile:
P5130012.JPG

Set it on the pile:
P5130015.JPG

Looked like the wind could blow it off, so I moved it back farther:

A rare October ice storm two years ago broke a lot of limbs because the leaves were still on. I got the ones in the yard right away, but there are several more broken limbs out on the property.

Here are two that need to come down:
P4270003.JPG

Clamped on, using the Long Reach Tree Puller:
P4270008.JPG

It broke off when I retracted the boom:

Clamped on:
P4270011.JPG

Retracted the boom:

And backed up:

Two down, many more to do.

I had a Bobcat 773 skid steer.Thought it would be the cats meow for doing things around my place. It turns out that it isn't. The slightest up hill climb with nothing in the bucket it wants to sit on it's tail. If i'm trying to move things around, being alone, it is ny on impossible to get out of the thing to hook up a chain on something with the loader at the heighth you need it. I sold it and bought a Kubota with an fel. I put a boxblade on the back for counterweight and fluid in the rear wheels. Lifts anything I need. Works great lasts long time!

Xfaxman,
Did Bobcat freeze production on Versahandlers? As in not making any right now?
hugs, Brandi
