Credit where due!...

I had difficulty downloading the book (Mac w/Adobe Acrobat) and after repeated attempts, unloaded some "computer rage" in Muhammads direction (not AT him!). /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I want to acknowledge his conscientious and prompt (like RIGHT NOW!!) attention to my problem, and his sending me an e-mail file of the book faster than I could follow-up my mailing with another, saying that my next attempt to download had gone off without-a-hitch (three-point). /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

So I'm DOUBLE-FIXED!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I was able to download and open the book today after Muhammad sent it to me a second time. I found the file and after updating Adobe it opened. My apologies for jumping the gun and thinking the book was a "strange joke". No--there is a book inside the file, I was just not opening it properly--Now, how do I get it to print out. The complexities of the info age--egads. Again, apologies for dissing the book. JRW

TresCrows, I just opened the book in Adobe and clicked on "print" and the whole book printed out; 234 pages, nice color, big print (easy for us old guys to read), nice colors and pictures (glad I had just put new ink cartridges in the printer). Of course, with my old printer it took nearly two hours and I had to add paper 3 or 4 times./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif Now I just have to find time to read it all.

Congratulations on the book! As I sell books for a living, I'd have to say that I would like a hard copy also, but this is the digital age so I guess I will conform. Looking forward to getting it downloaded. I think the hard copy would sell, can't think of a public library that couldn't use it! And there is a lot of them out there. Hi Muhammad,

Congratulations on your new book. I just downloaded it yesterday without a hitch. Although I too generally prefer hardcopy books, I'll enjoy this electronic equivalent until a printed version is available. It really is a great compendium of information about our compact tractors.

Just a word for those who might balk at the price. Please keep this in mind. How much has this board helped you? Can you even put a price on the information you've gathered here? I certainly can't, but I do know that through Muhammads tremendous efforts running this show and all the great people that post here, I've gained knowledge that otherwise might have taken years to comeby...or perhaps never have learned at all. I think the price of his book is small recompense for all of this knowledge and his colossal efforts.

Muhammad, congratulations again and thank you. Put me down for the hard cover version when it's available.

I said I didn't think I'd be able to download something that long because I forgot about the difference in "downloading" and opening a .pdf file from an Internet site. I've found 10 to 20 page manuals on the Internet that take a long time to open, read, or print; however, downloading the book only took about 6 minutes. I suppose it also has something to do with "zipped" vs "unzipped" files, but of course I don't understand those words, except in connection with the fly on my britches./w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Congratulations on your book!! I spent quite a bit of time looking for something like this a few months ago and came up with zilch. I would prefer a print copy and would be willing to put in a standing order for one if that would carry any weight with your publisher.
