Does anybody own one of those cordless grease guns? Opinions? Does anybody besides Lincoln make them? Are they good quality - meaning "will they last?" With almost 50 grease fittings on the EF-5, I'm seriously considering getting one!

Mike - Check out http://www.lincolnindustrial.com/html/powlub.asp for the company's product page. There's a link to an 8-page brochure in pdf format that's pretty good at the bottom. I've seen the 1242 model, 12v, one battery, for a little over $150, but I haven't been looking long. They claim it'll dispense 3 tubes of grease on one charge - that would be plenty for me! From the descriptions, I think it's designed for professional maintenance personnel use, which is fine with me. My wife already calls me "Mr. Overkill", anyway. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Mark, when my brother was running the tool truck, he sold quite a few of them to mechanics who worked on farm and construction equipment in the field. He said he didn't have any complaints or any returned for warranty, so I guess they're pretty good, but I never used one personally.

Bird - That's a good enough testimonial for me to try one, I think. I remember seeing them at an equipment show a few years ago when they were first introduced. They were being sold direct by the company that invented them and I didn't think they had all the wrinkles quite worked out. There's a blurb on the page I referenced earlier about a recall on units sold prior to Oct 1, 2000 having a safety recall due to defective hoses. But it sure seems to be a handy item, and it looks like it's well made. I haven't been able to handle one personally, though, so I don't know where it's made. I wish I did. But, thanks for the info - I guess I'll be the TBN product evaluation agent (read that "guinea pig") this time.

Thanks! That's a pretty good price. I talked a local parts store into letting me have one for $155, so I went ahead and ordered it through him. I'll let everyone know how it works.

I've got one that I got on sale at F&F for $149.99. It works really well and haven't had any problems with it yet.

Hi ya
what kinda PSI do they run i have 2 guns a cordless (read as use by hand no battures needed)and a air gun i know the air gun is way lower than the hand gun .with my drill i used to have it had 30 odd fittings on it and would suck the life out of a tube of grease each day i used the air gun when at home or in stony ground where ya added grease 2 times a day (yep 2 tubes per day)but found the hand gun the best day in day out ,one handed gun not the old lever type..
catch ya
