Cordless impact to crank trailer jacks

I would not use an impact on any gearing. Impact on a screw shaft is distributed along the entire shaft. So very effective on bolts and nut. No so on any gear or spline. Most landing gear has a bevel gear to convert horizontal motion to vertical. In that case the impact force is concentrated to a single gear tooth or spline of the landing gear. Bad or expensive things will surely happen.

If the regular 1/2 drill proves inadequate this should get the job done. View attachment 671040

That would store nicely in either the trailer locking tool box or my truck. Now if I just knew if if it would raise a 9,000lb trailer. I would think it would do it easily. If the trailer was loaded and heaven forbid, I had to uncouple it from the truck, I could put it in gear reduction mode.
I can charge its battery in the RAM easily. In fact, I have a DeWalt charger already on-board for other tools.

You would think by now, someone like E Trailer would have produced a kit to make all this possible.....

I have that same drill with a cord on it. I feel pretty confident you wouldn’t outpower it with the hand crank.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but I have 2 speed jacks. On the easier to crank/slower to raise mode, a battery powered drill would crank it easily, even fully loaded.

After reading all these comments, I wonder if the available hydraulic jacks on the Gatormade trailer I want, would be worth the extra cost.

Depends on weight of trailer and your physical strength.
My Kaufman weighs 9k empty and after a long day, itd be nice to not have to crank it off the truck.
If it’s got more than 10 bales on it, forget it on low speed, only the high speed setting is possible (has 2 speed jacks)

I don’t know on Gatormade but on Diamond C it is a $1,800 option if you have the hydraulic unit already for the dove tail. Guess it depends on your level of desire to modify something existing or buy premade

I ordered the Gator Made trailer yesterday. I got the “Elite” model. For the extra $1500 it comes with Hydraulic jacks, spare tire, Led light bar and a sliding ratchet rail.
