Country music is dead?

I whole heartedly agree. But even Patsy had pop and cross-over. She had some rockabilly stuff too.

Sure is interesting to pull Patsy, and Cowboy Copas, up on Youtube.

Sure wish I coulda seen her. She passed away 6 months before I was born.

and of course Patsy Cline...that is real country in my humble country opinion...

My son and his band interred the Country Colgate showdoun contest a few months ago and was taken down by an 11 year only girl singing Patsy Cline songs, So there are still young people influenced by the older country artist and do like sining their kind of music;) check her out here on Youtube,

I mean, I listen to country music most of the time, but lately it is just annoying. If you compare classics like All my exes live in Texas or Mama don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys or the good old Johny Cash - current country music just plain sucks; wouldn't you agree? There is a lot of whining and nothing catchy in lyrics or melody.
I listen to Junior Brown.Check him out on youtube

I agree with most of the previous posts. I've gotten older, the music has changed, and the artist seem to me to be all about the dollar so all of these things mix as well as oil in the crankcase.

If you get the time. Check out these vids on You Tube. He is a very entertaining singer/songwriter. Some are lighthearted, sad, and some will bring back some fond memories. The lyrics are from everyday life like "That's Life" from the play list. They are a mix of acoustical and band.

Check him out, I'm sure you will enjoy.

Hey Walleyed,

You're welcome. Be careful, his music and songs can be very addictive.
I went to see him in Decatur, Ala last month. Very entertaining. He is from, down the road a little ways from me, Tupelo, Ms.

If you liked those check this out Muscle Shoals to Musc Row Live!. From the left click on 'current' then select Paul Thorn. It's all acoustical. I think you will get a small chuckle.

Thanks for Daryl's House.

Enjoy,
David

Guys I had to through my 2 cents in. My opinion the greats C&W sing was Gary Stewart. But seriously, I have gotten addicted to satellite radio.
