Why 'embarrassing'?
Why 'embarrassing'?
This is an interesting statement. The reference to "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness" comes from our Declaration of Independence, and not the Constitution, and as such has no standing in law. From a legal standpoint the Declaration of Independence is merely an embarrassing historical document
Old VA Joe - I have been following your thread but did not see the county listed.
Thanks

Well, since you feel so "embarrassed" by our founding event and its documentation, maybe you should carry yourself somewhere you can be proud of, and not continue to be a hypocrite, enjoying and benefitting here from what you find so embarrassing to you personally. I'm pretty sure you won't say that out in public where people can see your legal name and face. What a cheap shot at your country.
I can see where many young people would be attracted to these, given the economic conditions most face. I read about a guy who lived in an Econoline on the Duke campus not long ago - he got away with it, but the university quickly passed a new by-law to cover that strategy.

Not sure if this is a joke or a real item, but it does go along with our discussion.
