You also want to be careful about getting the right donkey or donkeys. I put one gelding in with my goats, but he could see and hear other donkeys aways off, so he paced up and down the fence like a cage lion, then attacked goats. He broke one's neck and would have seriously injured others if I hadn't been there to stop him. A neighbor had 5 donkeys, including one big jack, with his cattle and they did a good job, but he sold them, then lost calves to coyotes, and bought another pair. The jack attacked the cattle, chased and bloodied some of them until the neighbor got rid of him.

Dang Joe, you kinda hard on them bovine. When i suggested earlier that he get a couple bred cows, i was kinda figurin' he wouldnt go to the Calvary Stampede to pick them up from their breedin stock. If'n he got a local auction mkt, he could pick up a couple gentle cows that will eat outa a bucket to accomplish his task of getting rid of grass. That being said, he will still need a tractor of some sorts to keep it dragged, mowed and other little things a feller needs to do with a tractor. He could just keep them during the growin' season and dump them on the market when the frost comes. Kinda like gambling 'cept you dont normally get to sit in an a/c room when they sell. Also, round here, most folks would eat a steer before he got to be 1200 lbs and for crazy bulls, yep they is some, but i got one you can walk up to and grab his jewels and shake'm like jingle bells. I was riding him around the pasture this morning. I dont have no sheep or goats til the neighbors get out and come visitin'. Yall have a good day. chuck
