In regards to older power tools being better.
I got this 1/2" drill from my friend the "scrap iron" guy. I saw it laying in a huge pile of metal to be hauled to the shredder. Asked him how much he wanted for it, he said take it, doubt I have more than 50 cents invested. I gave him $10. Works like a champ.
To my point, I never considered Black & Decker a high quality tool manufacturer. But back when they produced this Drill they were. What it lacks is reversibility. Very few had that feature then.
