Father brought back the mower today. Same condition as when it left. I gave him his check back. He felt a little sheepish about his sons behavior. I told him...no problem as I had dealt with him not his son. He perked up and we had a nice visit discussing why Allis Chalmers tractors are the best.

You can also post a Craigslist warning on the Farm&Garden area to warn others about your flaky buyer(s). I'd still like to know why you accepted a check, especially for that amount. I tell my buyers to bring money, not paper money of any kind. I've also been known to tell them no deal if they arrive in a foreign car or truck. Food for their pigmy ponies ought to be ordered from Japan, Korea, England or Germany, not mid-Michigan. Like apples? How about them apples....
