That's why I have an email address that is solely used for responding to Craigslist. Go ahead - sell it to spammers or whatever you want to do with it. It's not going to bother me any.

My 76 year old dad is a CL Virgin and had me put his 8n out there a couple weeks ago. I advised him; "dad do not do any deals with anyone over text or email.. if the won't come with cash you don't deal with them".
The very day after I put his add on CL he forwards me a text while I'm at work and the text said.. " I am fine with the price and condition of the tractor, please consider it sold and text me your address and name and I will send you a check and arange for pickup." My dad says.. " I can't go wrong can I?" I said dad its a scammer (which he now calls a gangster : ) ). I said tell them to call you and that you will only deal face to face and want cash... he didn't hear back.
They want to send you a check for too much money then you send them a check to refund their overspend and they wash your check and put in the numbers they like better. Or.. there will be additional information required to cash their check and they will use that information in illegal ways.

Usually, it is an absurdly low price, ending in some odd number, like $1137, and very poor use of English.
This one is completely out in the weeds.

What's really amazing is that these guys put enough of fake adds out there that eventually they get somebody. Same thing with the fake phone calls demanding payment for something you owe on. Mostly it's seniors that get taken, but with these Craigslist ads, I wonder who falls for it?

Yeah, that one is kind of a head scratcher. Perhaps it is a slightly early April fools joke? or an attempt at satire on all the other Craig's list scams?
