Craigslist tractor scam again.

is this still a hot issue to watch out for? My son-in-law responded to a craigslist ad for a John Deere farm tractor with plow and other implements- Seller says its in Missouri at a ship yard waiting to be shipped out, she'll take care of shipping charges, she's going through divorce and wants to sell; if he sees anything wrong within 5 days after having received it, she'll take it back. Seller said she was going to pull the craigs list ad until he lets her know he wants it so no one else can get it before him. i haven't seen the listing yet - don't know if a phone number or name was provided, he's been corresponding by e-mail only so far. My husband and I are giving them the money (after talking with Seller and getting appropriate PIN and checking whether stolen, etc.) so of course when i saw this discussion my alarms were raised. Thank you

I would send them an e-mail stating that you have sent their information to the FBI's cyber fraud division...

I can't belive people fall for these scams. There is no such thing as a 2009 Kubota MX5100 for $2,900. If it is sounds too good to be true guess what, IT IS !!!

It is amazing that anybody responds to these craigslist ads but obviously they do for the amount I see. It is especially irritating, or funny, depending on my mood to see the listings for my local area. I am in South Florida and everyday there is a listing for a tractor at some ridiculuos price. The picture of the tractor usually shows a rural area with hills or woods nearby when anyone who did their homework would know there is not a hill, woods, or rural area around S. Fla!

Yes, they are still very active posting these scams. Tractors, boats, camper vans, etc... My uncle who doesn't use the computer much was going to buy a camper van this way until he gave me a phone call... he's glad he called

Tell them that you mentioned this to your brother in law and his 3rd cousin works at the same shipyard and you would like to have him take a peek at it before possibly wasting her time and money shipping it to you.
The "seller" will either: Not respond to further emails OR respond with a line of BS as to why it cannot be done.
