Bobcat CT445
Hello,
I have a 2011, CT445 that has developed a high pitch whine when driving in reverse after the engine is warmed up. I remember reading something about this situation here on TBN about 5 years ago I think it had something to do with a valve? Is it something that I should be concerned with? I think I remember there was a repair kit? Can someone please help me find that article?
Thanks
Chet

The in field fix was to add a hose to act as an accumulator to absorb the vibration pulses caused by the charge pressure relief chattering. Final production fix was a redesign of the relief valve to prevent it from chattering.

SSdoxie, Thanks for the added info. I'll stop at the local Bobcat dealer in a couple of days to see if I can get the updated relief valve.
Thanks again

I don't know if the updated relief valve will fit in older pump, or if the charge relief can be replaced without removing and disassembling pump. Won't to ask.

The field fix is quick, easy and painless and effective.

Dennis and James,
Thanks for the advice, I almost ashamed to admit that I probably have no right owning a tractor because I have absolutely no knowledge of where things are or how they work on them, but they are fun and I'm learning as I go. I consider myself rather mechanically inclined and and can fix most things if I know what to do. When I go to the dealer I'll see what I can find out from them about the parts for the field fix. Thanks again for all your help.

Chet, no problem, we are glad to help, see my previous post for the part numbers.. It took the Kioti tech all of 5 minutes to complete this repair under warranty in my driveway.

James,
Thanks again, all you guy's have been big help. I printed out all the pictures, diagrams and part numbers and will take them to the dealer when I go to town next week. This week I have been pulling out some big timber that fell in the woods last Winter. It's still cool up here in West Central Minn. so I only hear the whine when I have been working the tractor for long periods. I'll let you know how all this turns out. Hope all is well there in Branson.

Well, I went to my local Bobcat dealer where I bought the tractor the other day and they were absolutely no help what so ever, they never heard of the problem and didn't try to help find out anything about it. Just said, you on your own. So I tried another dealer in Fargo ND about 70 miles away. A night and day experience. He never heard of the problem either but was willing to help try. It turned out that he was on the phone with me for over 45 minutes going thru pages of part numbers, diagrams and documents. He even found the original memo from Bobcat stating some owners of CT335's were complaining about the whine in reverse. Anyway, the field repair parts (7025206 & 7025205) are still in the system, in stock and will be be delivered to me about the middle of next week from Chicago. They didn't have the exact cost but somewhere around $80. I'll follow up on this when I get the parts and install them. Again, thank you all for the help.

Chet I hope you get her fixed real soon. I got the fix for free from my Kioti dealer even out of warranty. Of course that might just be a dealer thing.
