I noticed my '96 Cub Cadet 7274 (this is a 4 wheel drive, manual transmission, 27hp 3 cylinder diesel built by Mitsubishi with 400 hours on it) has started having the right rear brake stick in the on position after I apply it. The brake pedal itself still has movement, but the brake pads seem to be stuck internally. This is the right side only, left brake works fine. I can release the right brake by tapping the brake rod (linkage) backwards with a small hammer (reaching under the side of the tractor).
I'm not exactly sure what Mitsu tractor is the equivalent to mine, but I thought someone might have some advice for a problem like this ?
Thanks in advance.

The 7274 has wet brakes. To get at them you have to remove the axle housing. There is a spring in ther that probably is either broke or unhooked.

Re: Cub Cadet 7274 question (built by Mitsubishi).

Thanks lens12. I'm not familiar with wet brakes. Are they like a disc brake submerged in oil ? Or are they just like regular brake shoes expanding outwards towards a drum and everything in oil ?

Also, do you sell repair manuals ? Would you have one for my model 7274 ?

Thanks again .........
