Cub Cadet Yanmar SC2400
Parked my Sc2400 yesterday after blowing snow for about 3 hours. Today it won't start. Turn key to the preheat position all is normal (hear clicking) few seconds later turn key to start position and nothing happens. Checked fuses 25 amp start fuse has no 12v either side. Activate seat safety switch and break pedal, still no juice. Is there another safety switch ? Or any other suggestions?
Thanks
Ray

Found the trouble. There is a switch activated by the brake pedal under the floor board, it was frozen due to all the 20" of snow and 0 temps. Put heat gun on area and it started right up. Per my dealer park it with the parking break on and it won't happen. Thanks Ray

I had the same problem last winter. They have redesigned that safety switch. My dealer replaced mine and never had another problem. He said there was a service bulletin about the issue.

I was just going to post this. Glad you found the problem. I have heard about the parking break switch freezing/sticking.

My switch went out when tractor was only a month old and in good weather. Dealer came to my home and replaced it under warranty and with no service fee. Great customer care.

Once again safety switches cause expensive, rugged outdoor equipment to be rendered useless and cause owners time, energy and frustration. Can you tell I am not a fan of mandated safety switches?

living in maine do you know how to disconnect seat safety switch??? mine is causing me problems and can't move the tractor..keeps shutting off. with these cold temps its got to be frozen or something. just pulled it back into garage and turned the garage pellet stove on. This is ridiculous...

I think posting methods to override safety features is against forum rules.

That said if you lift the seat and pull the switch it should be pretty obvious how to accomplish this.

ETA:

You may want to check the parking brake switch.
They have been known to cause problems, specifically in winter.

Also may want to be sure the seat switch hasn't pulled out partially or completely.
