Here are a few photos of forming the shaft for the articulating joint. We didn't have to use the lathe, but we had 2 inch shaft kicking around and then we work it down to 1.75 inch. It only took about six hours, but it was fun playing with the machine. That's not me in the photo, that's Jerry, one of the nice people that volunteered to help me out on this project.

I'm very envious! :drool:Great progress. Looks like you're soon on your way to a rolling chassis.

I haven't been able to tinker with any of my "planned" projects. I ended up trading off my Hyundai Tuscon for a 01 F250 and have been kept busy fixing the little things and adding things. It's addictive and I have to remind myself it a work horse not another project vehicle to throw my money at. I wish for once my projects would throw money at me!

That's a job, that you never retire from. A hobby that you can make money from.

I've come up with an idea for a suspension system, for my machine's front-end. It's a little crude yet, but I'm looking for little bit of feedback before I refine it more. I've attached a few photos, and also did a video animation of how it works. Let me know what you think.

Not sure what to think about that suspension. Very unusual. Can you please explain it's purpose? I'm assuming you are using it to adjust ride height?
