In light of some of the posts of late, I thought I would post one of a good experience. It seems everywhere you go these days, restuarants, box stores, consumer goods stores, etc... customer service is a dying art that is not passed on to or taught to employees anymore. I was pleasantly surprised when after taking delivery of my shiny new tractor that I had someone in my dooryard the following day to take care of a loose jam nut on the FEL joystick.
The delivery guy unloads the my new "toy" and proceeds to go over all the features and controls(of course I've been through all this two-three times at the dealership already, but practice makes perfect /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif). While having me in the seat he demonstrates the FEL control including the float position, then tells me to try it. I do and /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif the lever free spins in my hand. He says "oh sh#! another one". It seems a very few end up out there with the jam nut on the joystick not quite torqued down enough. And I'm thinking **** I really wanted to re-grade the winter ruts out of my driveway. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I did anyway only stopping occaisionally to finger tighten the offending nut through the rubber boot, got pretty good at it too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Now the good, next morning 0730 hrs I have a mechanic from the dealership removing an access cover to get under the boot and torque down the darn jam nut to spec. I'm back in the loading business with no more finger tightening stops. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Sure it was a little thing, but did I feel like I made a good decision going with Rodicks Farm Machinery of Schroon Lake? You betcha! I'm sure I'll feel the same way years from now.
BTW the Chevy dealership where I bought my Silverado sends me a birthday card every year personally signed and they only whack me $13.95 for OLF service. Can't even do myself for that. Customer service is where it's at.
