In light of some of the posts of late, I thought I would post one of a good experience. It seems everywhere you go these days, restuarants, box stores, consumer goods stores, etc... customer service is a dying art that is not passed on to or taught to employees anymore. I was pleasantly surprised when after taking delivery of my shiny new tractor that I had someone in my dooryard the following day to take care of a loose jam nut on the FEL joystick.

The delivery guy unloads the my new "toy" and proceeds to go over all the features and controls(of course I've been through all this two-three times at the dealership already, but practice makes perfect /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif). While having me in the seat he demonstrates the FEL control including the float position, then tells me to try it. I do and /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif the lever free spins in my hand. He says "oh sh#! another one". It seems a very few end up out there with the jam nut on the joystick not quite torqued down enough. And I'm thinking **** I really wanted to re-grade the winter ruts out of my driveway. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I did anyway only stopping occaisionally to finger tighten the offending nut through the rubber boot, got pretty good at it too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Now the good, next morning 0730 hrs I have a mechanic from the dealership removing an access cover to get under the boot and torque down the darn jam nut to spec. I'm back in the loading business with no more finger tightening stops. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Sure it was a little thing, but did I feel like I made a good decision going with Rodicks Farm Machinery of Schroon Lake? You betcha! I'm sure I'll feel the same way years from now.

BTW the Chevy dealership where I bought my Silverado sends me a birthday card every year personally signed and they only whack me $13.95 for OLF service. Can't even do myself for that. Customer service is where it's at.

Willie....I was up to Rodick's first thing Satruday morning for their open house. Parking was kinda tight but managed to park right near a huge pile of dirt out back. It wasn't long before I realized the dirt pile was being used to show potential owners how to run a backhoe. I got all the info I needed & was outta there pretty quick..not wanting my '04 Silverado to get whacked by an out of control hoe.

I agree...nice bunch of guys there at Rodick's.

Cell phone companies are my pet peave among others for poor customer service.

I had used two different companies and their service people were terrible. One sent me a phone that was supposed to be already activated, but when I tried to dial out, it said the phone needed activation. I called the company and as soon as I said what the problem was, the woman hung up on me. That happened 6 times in a row! and I wasn't being nasty, yet.

Even spoke to a supervisor who said he would call me back the next day after speaking with their techs, but he never did. It took me 3 months to get my money back, and they were trying to charge me for two phones, not one! I won't say the name, but I SPRINTED away from them!

Now, with T-mobile, I'm always amazed at how courteous, fast and helpful they are with their customer service. I always get a quick response without long waits on hold, and they quickly take care of whatever question I have. What a breath of fresh air it is to deal with them. I know how you must have felt with Rodick.

Our daughters and grandson have T-Mobile and I haven't heard any complaints, but we have Cingular and have never had a problem as long as you go to a company store instead of a franchise store. When we moved back to town, we wanted a new number in that area code, and I stopped at a franchise store (without knowing the difference at that time) and he thought he could change the number for $30, but wasn't sure he could do it, and he thought I would need to sign another two year contract, etc. I went to a company store and they changed it on the spot at no charge.

When I wanted a new phone, and wasn't sure which one, the lady at a company store suggested I take three outside and try them out. I did, picked one, and went back in. She asked if I'd like to keep it and try it out more over the weekend before paying for it to be sure.

And for the first time, I recently had a cell phone battery die. I considered shopping on the Internet for a new battery, but didn't want to wait to order one. I figured I'd have to pay more if I went to Cingular for a battery, but did it anyway. The lady put a new battery in it; NO CHARGE!

As for customer service on the phone, I don't know; don't recall ever needing it.
