Have you heard about RAGBRAI? It is not a race but lot of fun. I and my wife did it few times but then we skipped two years. We might do it next year.
General Information | RAGBRAI It is hard to get registration though. If you secure your own place to stay and transportation of your stuff then you don't need to register. We camp on golf courses somebody's yard. Favorite places to camp are retirements homes. They provide breakfast and showers for very moderate voluntary but expected contribution.

Rotorua is a Fantastic place. I've led my walking group through there quite a few times and am planning on leading the biking group there a few times this coming summer. (it's only 50 minutes away)

I have been in NZ several time but unfortunately only on the airport. Looking down from the airplane the whole place is awesome.

We love it.
Rotorua is a geo-thermal area, lots of steam, hot pools, geysers, and boiling mud (like porridge when it comes to the boil) There are a lot of old forestry roads with dozens of tracks, graded 1-5.

I really need to get mine up and running again.

A Peugot!!! I had one of those when I rode in College. Steel Frame goodness. Update that frame with some modern components and you would have a really nice ride on your hands. I would love to have one of those old steel frames. I almost went with a Jamis for the steel. The bike shop owner talked me out of it. The component spec on the Fuji was higher for less $$$.

That's the stock photo. I have a Brooks B-17. Best saddle ever. Have had it over a decade.

I know asking this question will get me ex-communicated or at the very least someone will be around to let all the air out of my tyres, but, has anyone had any experience with electric bikes ??? My neighbour has been looking at them and asked if I knew anything about them. I've told him what a wuss I think he is (he's 64, I'm 78) but he has a dicky knee and a weak back and I think he likes the "Push to Pass" option. I would imagine, being heavier. they would harder to peddle and more suited to on-road riding. Do they use regular braking or regenerative braking?? how long would a charge last??
