now that I have completely hijacked the thread..... are all quick disconnects on the hoses created equally in a certain size range? if I just buy hoses can I assume they they will attach to my remote, or will they have to be spec'd to my machine?

There are different styles. Many are compatible but many are not. I recall having a hose made up with an ag quick couplings and the guy said he never had seen an ag quick couplings, just flat faced ones. Always ask about the connectors on the hoses or at least make sure they have the threaded style that you want to adapt to. Shop around for compatible standards, you don't have to stick to the expensive brands.

My hoses have ag couplings for the back and for the disconnects under the front of the cab, but flat-face for the FEL ends. This lets me use standard skid-steer implements without changing the fittings (well, except for the many skid steer implements that require too much hydraulic flow!). Also, the flat-face couplers are in male/female pairs so the auger always turns the right way and grapple closes correctly relative to control lever movement.
Getting four sets of couplers, plus about 40' of hoses cost a lot more than I expected.

The Danuser EP6 Digger has 2 hoses coming from the motor to the top of the housing. The ends are JIC #10 male. There are 2 common couplers for connecting to tractors or skid-steers. Tractors usually take parker couplers (end looks like a nipple). Skid-steers take a flat faced coupler. Skid-steers standardized their coupler back in 1996, so your machine needs to be a 1996 or newer, and some older Case models will not fit, better to buy an extra male and female coupler and change them over on the machine. Back then Case thought they were going to get the standard coupler and it was changed last minute. Glenn Danuser
