The closest lake to your area that I've been to was Lake Fork. I never saw any beavers there/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif but did catch quite a few bass/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif Not a keeper among them./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif But then a keeper on that lake is pretty close to a wall hanger/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

Ernie, Yep...I spent part of the day brush cutting. Then Grabbed the box blade and started pushing top soil into piles(for new barn location) so I could move it out of the way with the loader.Once I get the top soil moved, I'll bring in a few loads of churt for a base and mabey some sand over that to reduce the mud factor.Figured why buy top soil to put around the new house. When there is plenty just lying around. Besides look at the fun I'll have.../w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

As for beaver, we seem to have plenty here in BAMA.I also found out we have some other type of tree chewing varment. One of our, will be good neighbors, saw it a couple of weeks ago.

What makes this time of year fun is when you get up in the mornin it's 35deg and by lunch its 80deg.Then back down to 60's but by supper time.Fun Fun Fun if your'e a flue bug...

Paul actually let me move some topsoil with the FEL this weekend. Talk about the ultimate wheelbarrow (that's what I'm used to using). I am amazed at how much dirt it can lift. The hydrostat makes it that much more easy to use. Soooo... glad we got that! I'm sure I won't be using the tractor that much unless Paul is around because putting those implements on the three point is a real workout.
I am enjoying the heck out of seeing my husband and doggies go hog wild on our new spread. I can't wait to move in and start planting a garden, getting my first horse, pigmy goats and who knows what else.

Ya'll have fun!

Your new FEL sure beats the Amish backhoe doesn't it??? Guess that goes without saying. What is really nice for hooking up three point stuff is the Freedom hitch. You should mention it to Paul and see if he ever heard of it.

Hows that for a good plug Paul? /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Good luck with your new spread----and your new tractor as well sounds like your really enjoying it. After you get the freedom hitch make sure to let him drive it some too./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thats great! My wife wants nothing to do with the tractor, but my oldest daughter, when She's home from College will sure jump on it. I'm not sure if all Boomers have the type of three point hitch I have, but I've found it pretty easy. Then again, I'm comparing it to the old 8n, and anything is better than that. If you plan on having a garden, and Horses, goats, ect., I would suggest a post hole digger for that tractor/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif. Our cattle seem to keep an eye open for any open gate. I don't mind them mowing and fertilizing the lawn, but my wife gets real upset when they eat her flowers.

These women are all different, aren't they?/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif Neither my wife nor my oldest daughter will have anything to do with the tractor, but the youngest daughter (age 30) will climb right on and go to work with it when she comes to visit. Then it's just a matter of whether she or her husband is going to get the most time in on it./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif And as much as I like my tractor, I'm glad to sit in the shade and let them do the work./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Ernie, The hitch is fairly easy to me for the most part unless I'm silly enough to not park the implemants on fairly even ground, which is scarce on rolling farm land. But Lauries problem comes from the weight difference. Her weigth verses the amount of umpfffff it can take to get those lower arms on when you're not on good level ground.Plus our TC21D doesn't have those extending ends on the lower arms.

Laurie plans to brush cut the top 2 acres this sunday while I'm at the races. It's rolling and gentel so she should have an easy time with it.
Ya'll have a good weekend.

Paul,Ahh, I see. Mine has those extending ends on the lower arms. I can't remember what NH calls that type ,but I sure like it.

Paul and Laurie,

Glad to hear how well it is going with the new tractor. Sounds like you are getting the land projects started. When does the building start?

I also have two Jack Russels and they sure are a little dog with a big dog attitude./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
