Deere Rear Hydraulic Options

Bear with me.....a little long winded starting this thread and questions.

I just read where Deere is going to offer a better choice for dual rear hydraulics on NEW tractors. Having recently bought a 3320 with one set of rear remotes and single svc valve.....and WANTING to add a second set.....I understand the need for a better set-up from Deere for these tractors.

My used tractor came with the above mentioned rear set of couplers and they have the JD hoses and hard lines run to the front of my loader for a grapple. I bought a LD Marham Grapple and installed it with the JD Hydraulic set-up. It works beautifully....and I don't mind moving my hand from the joystick to the svc handle located right next to the joystick.

My back "went out" just as I had bought the tractor and hooked up the grapple....so I have not been able to use it n the field yet. I just had back surgery yesterday (removed piece of a ruptured disc).....so I am "hung up" at home for a few weeks to heal.

I want to add one more set of couplers at the rear in order to run a hydraulic top link and occasionally run a cylinder on my landscape rake. I have considered just using the coupler set up I have and just switching hoses .....but a second set would really be nice. I am also considering purchasing a stump grinder.....which requires two sets of couplers to operate (although I could use one set from the loader dump function). But, I really want to be able to operate my loader when the stump grinder is on to secure the tractor to the ground and move chips, etc. All that connect / disconnect stuff gets old.

I really thought it was going to be easier to accomplish my needs when I bought the 3320. And must say I am a little disappointed in that Deere doesn't offer better set ups to add hydraulic remotes....but such is life.

What should I do?? I really want two sets of rear hydraulic couplers to run these cylinders (my grapple and top link full time...and occasional implement cylinder and occasional 2 cylinders for stump grinder ). I would switch hoses for the occasional uses.

Options as I see it are:

(1) Fasse type diverter valve at rear of tractor "pluged" into my current hydrualic outlets. This would add one set of two outlets and a switch. Not sure how this would work a stump grinder. Cost seems most reasonable. I think Deere Dealers offer this as a "plug and play"??

(2) Power Beyond with a valve located ________? (any clean set-ups?)

(3) JD Diverter set up. Requires switches and its expensive.

Has anyone got a pic of the JD / Fasse valve located at the rear of the tractor with two sets of couplers directly on the fasse valve or?? This occurs to be the easy way out.....but I have not seen an installation like this.

Advice on which way to go for my situation?

I cant get out of the house to go to the JD dealer and look at stuff and ask questions...due to this back issue. I kinda want to make some decisions so that when I'm able, I can have the stuff to get this project completed and get some beet juice in my tires and get my tractor hauled up to my land.

The hardest thing is buying a new tractor and then look at it stand there for six weeks or more with a back issue....I hope I don't have any hidden problems....lol. :laughing:

I suppose a fourth option is:

(4) A diverter valve and switch located on the loader and connecting to the dump function. And....a switch to provide rear hydraulic couplers to operate via the joystick. (materials via Surplus Center should not be too bad)

This may be a good choice?

I'm glad you responded Kenny.....your input is always appreciated and trusted. No offense to those installs shown....I'm sure they both work pretty nice....but it's awfully "busy" with all the hoses and valves. :confused2:

I work in the woods and brush allot....and with all that plumbing hanging on the back of my tractor....I beleive both of those installs shown would be asking for troubles.

I'm going to re-think my needs....and maybe just go without....methinks. Maybe I'll keep renting a grinder.....and just get along without a hydraulic top link. Sometimes less is more....if you know what I mean.

I'm sourcing out electrohydraulic valves to run off the PB on my 4720 right now. Otto will likely be providing the grip and switches. I am getting some help from a hydraulics shop.

I'll let you know how things go.

At the risk of getting OFF THREAD, everything I plow is level ground and with a concrete filled ballast box and loaded tires; no chains needed.

I like your plow set-up too. And can see where you could use the same solution to hydraulics as I. But, you may get by with a diverter off of one of the FEL ports if your looking to operate that plow tilt.

After Kennyd's answer I got into a bit of a funk about the hydraulics offered for these tractors. (maybe it's my back meds ) Anyway.....it seems there are so many pics where a clean install of multiple remotes is shown on the back of these tractors that I ASSUMED it was gonna be easy. BUT....these pics of these "clean" installs are all diverter derived.....so it turns out its all a bit of smoke and mirrors for the guy whom ONLY WANTS A SECOND SET OF REAR REMOTES AND A VALVE.

JD is listening, but unfortunately their solution is not backwards compatible.

I know what you mean, fortunately I can get away with the third SCV and the power beyond. I'd like to add the hydro top link

Doesn't that plow work completely from the FEL hydraulics?

I bought a used JD 4400 with five remotes and PB. It was all factory plumbing and even still when I bought it I was concerned about the hoses in back and lack of a "cleaner" looking install too.

After using it a while now...I pretty much couldn't care less about the clean install anymore. Using a hydraulic toplink to change the angle and bite of a box blade or rake is like magic. I've got one remote going up front to a grapple, so that leaves me almost exactly what you described, one open rear remote for a blade angle, and disconnect some hoses if I ever need two cylinders.

If you go ahead and get the two rear remotes you will not regret the decision. Like me, you'll like the added capability so much that you probably no longer care about what earlier you thought was a big drawback (messy install).

I'm just venting a bit....as I feel some things could be made a little easier and less expensive for us JD owners.....AND remote hydraulic NEEDS such as this have been around for a long time. I also realize it's a big part of the profit picture selling some of these kits.....but this wouldn't be a big deal on a new Bobcat. (hint, hint)

I think I will get by with an electric diverter and hook up my hydraulic top link...thus giving me two options. But this set-up would not work very well with my stump grinder plan.....so I think I'm going to forgo that idea and stay a renter.

Maybe I'm just trying to rub a little salt here....but a kit allowing for two independent controlled remotes in this 21st century is not asking too much IMO. And a retro-fit for the 3x20's would sure be nice. More hints.

Yes, it's already been talked about. Some of the stuff is in JDParts already.

The 3PH stump grinder that I have reseasrched (Like the Woods unit) have a 2-spool valve built right on them for the lift and swing so it is easy to operate off-seat.
