Definitive Kubota Orange budget replacement

Jay, how old is your BX -- I bet the paint has faded a little. I painted a hydraulic cylinder and cannot tell the difference between this paint and the Kubota orange on my relatively new (~9 months) L3200. It's a darn good match. Does look redder than my box blade though, but I know that paint has faded a bit.

Mine is fairly aged - 12ish years anyway. I think my BX2200 is somewhere around 2002 or so. I can say that the loader and the tractor are slightly different shades, as is the blower. I suspect fading as well. I'm still tempted to buy a case of the paint and a sticker set and make my '94 L4200GST look new again!

Yesterday I picked up the six cans I ordered from Home Depot online for store pickup. Their email said maybe 3 weeks but it was only 9 days. I sprayed some on a small panel on my L3250 - good match. Thanks again for the tip. Dick B

Last time I checked (which was a while ago) Duplicolor Chevrolet Orange Engine Enamel was a pretty close match. Autozone used to carry it.

Best thing about it: it's engine enamel ...

I bought a quart of Valspar "Tractor & Implement Kbota Orange" (yes, that's how they spelled Kubota) #4432-24 and it is quite a bit lighter than the paint on my 2012 B26. After reading this thread, I picked up a couple spray cans of the Rustoleum Lobster Red at Walmart and the match is almost perfect.

I grabbed another 4 cans this weekend. Something tells me there's going to be a confused ordering agent at WalMart corporate soon. "I don't get it - 'lobster red' Rustoleum is disappearing off of all of out shelves all the way across the entire country! What could all of these people possibly be painting???"

Inside info tells me, allot of people with JD's are painting them orange.

That happens all the time to me - it used to be the "fatwallet effect". Now I guess it can be "the TBN effect". Like when we were alerted the Everlast PA 300's were
selling for less than half price, and they all got sucked up.

That Valspar code is for the old Kubota Orange -- you want the "New Kbota Orange", #5339-27. More info here:
