Paint? That is what comes on a tractor when it is new, right?

The large plates are Lobster Red. The small curved plate is Kubota Orange II from a new (today) spray can. The cylinder is for a B21 backhoe stabilizer that I got from surplus center. It is shinier and brighter but otherwise identical to those on the 2004 B21. The LR is a nice color but seems to me redder than the comparisons I have available. No point comparing with the faded paint on the tractor.

FYI: I found the PERFECT budget Kubota Orange paint.

Its Rustoleum "Lobster Red" - $3.77/can at Walmart.

It is absolutely identical to the 'new' Kubota orange.

Jay, I've been painting my L3250's loader and body panels using a HVLP sprayer and a gallon of factory New Orange acrylic enamel. It looks good (considering I'm terrible at painting) but the really great thing is if any small areas need painting or touching up (brackets bolt heads, loader pins, clamp bars, valve box, etc etc) the Rustoleum Lobster Red is dead on - it looks lighter when wet, but it dries to a VERY close match. And there's no spray gun cleaning! Great find!

OK....... anyone have an inexpensive match for the Kubota grey?

Rustoleum #7784 "Charcoal Grey" -- Can't vouch for that one personally - but was reported a match earlier on TBN.

I actually used a paint that was a dead match to ROPS grey a couple of years ago, but can't remember what it was, other than being called black. I think it was called Massey black, but not sure - no memory of the brand or where I got it either. Krike', I hate being old and senile...

In my opinion the #7784 Charcoal Grey is not a good match. Not near as good as the Lobster red is a match for the orange. Of course everyone has their own opinion.:)

7786 in a quart can then add about 8% gloss black, both Rustoleum products. I did my plow frame with it and it matches very well.
Our local hardware store told me they could match the color with a Glidden product but I like Rustoleum paint, also no need to prime the metal first.
Cut and clean with mineral spirits.

The only bad thing about Rustoleum is the drying time is long.

Yeah, it is like that 'sticky' film on new cellphones. Some people leave it on, but most of us peel it off before first use. ;)

I spray a fair amount of it and have had great results thinning with acetone. It dries much faster.
Light coat followed by heavy coat and it looks great on implements.

It is a so so match. I painted the tines on my rake that color. I have a bunch of this paint. Since the tines are far from any gray part it is hard to tell they are not a perfect match.
