You'd think they could cure stuff with all the money they make but they haven't cured anything in a lifetime.

LOL that's because they know they'll make a lot more money treating rather than curing anything. Ever wonder why after all the years of schooling and with several years of experience under their belt, they're all still just practicing. It's the same story with lawyers. Why do we have to pay people more who are just practicing anything? I never got paid to practice.

Apologies for my rambling, but if it helps just one person, then all the better.

I don't understand exactly what you are doing to reverse diabetes. What do you eat? What don't you eat?

Are you going a day or more without eating anything at all?

If carbs spike insulin and high levels of insulin cause the body to store fat and increased fat leads to cellular insulin resistance thus requiring more insulin to reduce blood sugar which leads to more fat storage, then the solution is to avoid eating starches and carbs.

So I don't eat starches or carbs. Instead I eat some protein with a lot of fat. Dietary fat intake doesn't spike insulin, so the body doesn't take dietary nutrition and use it to make and store fat. Meanwhile the liver is conditioned to take fat and turn it into the sugars the body needs to run (because the entire body must run on sugars). When the liver runs out of dietary fat to use to make sugars, it switches over to using stored body fat to make blood sugar without spiking the hunger response.

As a result, a low-carb, high-fat diet (LCHF) is a dietary hack that allows for reduced caloric intake that leads to reduced insulin. Reduced insulin leads to cells becoming less insulin resistant which is all diabetes type 2 is: insulin resistance. If cells become less insulin resistant then type 2 diabetes is reversible.

In my case, I eat one calorically reduced meal a day because I want to my liver to use my own body fat as the means to make blood sugar rather than nutrition from dietary fat. So far using this strategy I've lost over 70 pounds and it has been relatively easy.

Well, I think I'm on the right track.

About a month ago, I had a couple spells where I felt like I was going to faint. On one occasion, it was after I had a bacon double cheeseburger from WhatABurger. Their burgers are soooo good and the service is excellent. Anyway it scared me a bit and I went to see my doctor. He ordered blood test and the only thing he noticed is that my blood sugar is around 100 which he called 'pre-diabetic'

Since then, I have stopped all rice, potatoes, white bread and pasta. I haven't had any more of these fainting episodes since. But, I haven't lost any weight either.

I am 56 years old, and 5'11" tall and weigh about 200 lbs. My mom has lived with diabetes for about 50 years now and I think it is somewhat hereditary, so it's always in the back of my mind.

Thanks for your reply Eric.

it wasn't likely the bacon or the cheese or the beef that was a problem, but rather the sugar in the special sauce and/or ketchup, plus the big bun, plus the french fries, and more ketchup with sugar. And did you drink a beer or sugary soda?
This assumes your cholesterol numbers are not off the charts and you are having indications of plaque buildup in your heart. Rule out one problem, focus on the other.

good thing when wake up calls aren't the final one.
my sugar was 99 for 15 years, and has now edged up a few points. Cutting back on the sweet stuff also.
Gosh I miss ice cream...

I agree that it was probably the bun, the fries, and the ketchup. My cholesterol is a little high and I take 40mg of simvastatin every day.

What's scary now, is that I typed 'pre-diabetic' for the first time ever in the above post, and this morning I'm getting ads on my Facebook page about 'pre-diabetes' tests.......How can they do that?

the ad at the top of the page is directed by your viewing history, I have stuff I've just looked at on Amazon or TSC show up in ads on the top. Everything we write online is scanned by someone...and apparently very quickly. We have no privacy here...There is a little indicator button/blue thing up at the top right. Click on it and the advertising company that does this is highlighted

Yep. A friend of our got us hooked on Korean TV shows.:confused3::laughing::laughing::laughing: We have to watch and read the subtitles but the one series we watched really hooked us and we are about half way through another series. These shows have a story arch that will take a certain number of episodes and once the story is told the show is off the air. The two series we have watched has really impressed us. Much better than anything we have seen on US TV in years. We don't know Korean so we have to watch the sub titles but even then the shows are really good.

What does this have to do with online adverts? Well I am getting there!:laughing::laughing:

The friend downloads the shows since he has spotty internet access and we saw the shows while visiting him on a vacation. Last night, I finally go around to figuring out how we could watch the shows on our Fire TV. There are a couple of websites that stream these shows and they have applications that can run on your phone or Fire TV. I visited some of the websites and installed a couple of the applications on the Kindles and Fire TV last night.

I immediately started to get web page adverts to the Korean drama websites.:laughing::laughing::laughing: This morning I saw more of these adverts but I also saw one for Corten steel which is something I was reading up on a few weeks ago....

The All Seeing Eye Of Sauron is not fiction....

Later,
Dan
