What I meant was...When I was selling Kioti, the Bobcat realtionship hurt Kioti dealers, as we lost tractor sales to Bobcat.
There was nothing but moaning and groaning amounst dealers and Kioti.
Then we started to see a shortage in tractors...

I just can see how this will keep Kioti stronge.
This may seem weard but it is a lots to sell a Bobcat over a Kioti as most of my first time tractor buyer customers heard of a "Bobcat" in one way or the other.

As a Bobcat dealer, I don't like the fact that therewill be yet another color Daedong, but I am not as shaken up as I would have been if I was still selling orange.

Granted, McCormick's presence seems small. Many of us here couldn't even tell you where we'd go look at them. Dividing Daedong into so many small "armies" seems a strange way to conquer, but we shall see. I agree with your concern about being Kioti. I just don't know all the ins and outs like you do.

Perhaps it doesn't matter at all? Perhaps a dealer just sells his 40 mile circle and none of this matters? I dunno. Way too many colors chasing the same dollars.

I guess the question for me: Will it be a better tractor, at a better price. And will it(company line-up) give dealers better support. As a consumer knowing that it came out of a "kioti/daedong" line gives me some confidence. But on the other hand, from a dealer point off view, it can be nerve-racking... especially when you are trying to establish/push and brand a product.

Actually, i think it will not affect Kioti much. In truth, I think it is McCormick who shot themselves in the foot. They started off well, with a good lineup of Ag tractors but no homeowner tractors. Landini made a very nice range of tractors but did not market most of them under the McCormick name.

Since then they have drastically cut production of models, and focused only on the big tractors, going for profit margin, rather than sales volume. Their main seller is the CX which is a somewhat out dated machine. They have completely ignored the basic utility market. For smaller tractors they have been all over the map and the Daedong agreement is the next version of this.

The DK55 is a solid ag utility tractor, but has no frills and is getting out of date with it's basic 12x12 transmission. Other brands have very nice powershuttles and 16x16 options. The larger DK's are too expensive for what you get.

Landini/ McCormick could have successfully marketed the Alpine with it's modern transmission, they also could have done a much better job marketing the Powerfarm./ CMAX which is an excellent tractor. Here in the US they priced it too high, and it only had the claw links instead of extendable links when ALL of their competitors have them.

They completely ignored the 55-75 lighter weight utility market with only a weak attempt with the CL line, but no cab model. The CMAX 85, their smallest tractor cost $52K discounted with a loader. In line with a 5085M but they had no smaller ag tractor. I think this is what they are after with the DK 55/75/90 models, but there are better machines out there in this class.

The smaller Daedong tractors are fantastic but McCormick has shifted around too much to gain consumer confidence. Plus, this year, they are requiring dealers to order a minimum of 12 tractors to keep on the lot. I think they will stay a minor player even though I prefer red tractors ;-)

New member here! Maybe Kioti wanted another outlet for their product because the Bobcat venture is not working as well as it should? Maybe they and Bobcat are not getting along and if one relationship may end they wanted something to fill the void?? Or it may just give Daedong the market share it is looking for?

Jeez Landini and McCormick just starting selling LS compacts the last couple of years, now they are done with LS and selling Kioti? They are going to kill their branding in no time.

McCormick/Landini may not have had a choice.
Contracts for decal tractors can be allowed to expire or not renewed by either party. Perhaps LS didn't wish to supply McCormick? Perhaps related to LS ending relationship with FarmTrac/Montana? Perhaps it was McCormick's decision to not renew? We'd never know which.
