Did you buy your tractor from TBN info

I bought my tractor first before I heard of TBN. I was looking for info on kubota issues, attachments and modifications I can do to make it more pleasurable. I never been in any forum till this one, now I joined a few others not related to tractors but this one continues to be my favorite. Kudos to Muhammad!:D

I had not purchased my tractor when I discovered TBN, but I had already talked to a dealer that was at the state fair and had made my decision I grew up on a farm and knew about tractors and the size I needed However, I spend a lot of time here reading. I like the attachments section and you can't beat some of the discussions along with the humor provided

I credit this site for saving my wallet quite a few dollars....Dont get me wrong, the dealer had what I consider a "good price"...it was better then the other quotes I had....but info gleaned from TBN got me what I consider a SMOKIN Deal on my machine.

I continue to use TBN for general info...always good to hear and see what other people are finding...be it problems with Hydraulics or shopping for a new log splitter...pretty informative all around. The "Troubleshooting" postings are also informative, No reason for anybody on here to have a 3x20 or 4x20 with poor AC or Heater performance...

One thing I dont particularity care for are the dealer postings....I dont have a Kubota not because I didnt want one, but because the Kub dealer was a joke. I know of some really good orange dealers, but travelling 300 miles for a tractor when I have a GREAT green dealer locally is kind of silly. I'm an equal opportunity tractor guy....Collectively my family members (Uncles, etc) own 3 New Hollands, 2 CaseIH's, 1 International Harvester, 2 Fords, and 5 Kubotas...Horsepower ranges from 173 to 25, all good machines but the servicing dealers have more to do with a quality machine then all the propaganda and brochures in the world.

We picked out our tractor by size, the largest that we could use to mow our yard and do all the other work we wanted. I only found TBN later trying to see if we got a good deal and got hooked on the great information on the group.

Hi All,

I am just wondering as I love TBN (Thanks Muhammad!), have been here for yours and want to see how far reaching the TBN site is to people who have purchased their machine.

How long did you research TBN prior to your purchase?

Did you find TBN info to be a determining factor when you purchased?

Have you referred friends to TBN that then made a tractor purchase?

Just curious as I send lots of people here for research.

This is good info for TBN to know as well for their advertising efforts.

Maka

No I did not use TBN, I found this site after I bought. Sure have learned a bunch since then...:)

There are dealers who have made very valuable, unbiased, heplful comments on this site. There are times questions have been asked that only a dealer can give help on.

True...there are a few dealers here that are a very good source of unbiased info...a few of the others....not so much.

Maka,
I live in a farming community and got my tractor buying advice from a friend who farms. I bought on his recommendations for my acreage, needs etc. A day or two later, I found TBN when I wanted to read others experiences with my brand. Of course, they were all positive.

I bought all my implements, attachments etc., using TBN as a reference. I didn't post much in those sections, just played like a fly on the wall so to speak.

I just like hanging out here now, although I don't get here as often anymore.

I found TBN doing a search on tractors also. Have been addicted since. It definitely helped with my buying decision and even finding a dealer, and the a new dealer. Most everyone is very willing to share their knowledge and experience and it's awesome.

I searched four local dealers Orange, Green, orange, and finally Kioti Orange where I settled. I love it and definitely am glad I asked questions about hwich model to get. No regrets!! Thanks TBN!

Now, I just poke around and dream of buying or making my own implements. I mostly hang out in the customization section for suggestions and ideas.

Thanks EVERYONE for making this a great site!

As a dealer, I'll throw out a huge flag when using TBN as your only source of information. There is quite alot out here that is plain wrong or misinformed. There is no substitute for finding a good salesperson at a good dealership. Be informed, but trusting the internet as gospel is not smart.

You made several points here I will try to address.

1. While doing heavy research on TBN, you can determine who on the forum is knowledgeable and helpful. (And I traded private messages with many of them)
2. Because you did your research on TBN, does not mean you are gullible enough to believed everything you've read. Or that everything you read is "gospel".

3. And how might you know, in your ignorance of tractors at the time, who may be a good salesman and which is a good dealership? Ever had someone send you to a "good" mechanic?

Lastly information assimilation is my specialty. My "talent" if you will.. It has always served me well, as it did on my tractor purchase and my dealer choice..
I will admit, What works for me, likely may not work for others.
