Rail Sidings were everywhere around here at one time but almost all gone now as industry shifts or has left and streets realigned without sidings.The issue with that is simply, not every retail outlet has a rail siding. The goods that travel by rail still need to be offloaded and placed on trucks for delivery. Even the trailer on rails have to be delivered by a semi, they don't somehow get delivered by magic.
Still a few broad medians in the city that had tracks when I was a kid…
