Nobull I agree with what you've said. Nothing wrong at all with Stanadyne. I tend to agree with both sides. I can see where you would want the filter to pick up the extra water not being emulsified and I also agree with P/S contention that when it is emulsified it won't hurt anything. I believe that is why they put the rust inhibitors in the formula. I really don't think you would be wrong either way. Both are great products. We have diesels that have thousands of hours and pickups with over 500k that are still on the original motors and injectors. Actually it probably is all snake oil just like synthetic oil. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

If you are paying that much you are getting winter blend and will not notice any difference in your tractor. If you weren't in such a hurry to bash Cowboydoc you would be able to read that he uses untreated non-winterized fuel, and then conditions it with PowerService. You're both are saying the same thing.

Even when I know it's winter blend fuel I still add some conditioner to it. Cheap insurance is the way I look at it. But like alot of things is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt.

But it would only take one time with jelled fuel to take my approach on fuel conditioner.

I use antigelling addatives year round cause!

Filling up my tractor last week and I could see wax building up on the inlet filter as I was pouring.

Several times have gotten diesel with water in it during a summer fillup

Have noticed a difference between summer and winter diesel milage

On three or four winter cross Canada trips noticed all the big rigs were adding it. Figured they knew more than me.

On one sudden Temp change +10 to-40 C in Alberta there were dozens of big rigs parked on the roadside with fuel problems. Most were from Vancouver.

Know that the trucks transporting bulk fuel may not have clean tanks.

Know that refineries do have more off spec moments than they would like. They may also try and run to the limits of allowable specs.

Know that pipeline transportation of fuels to Bulk distribution sites may add contaminates.

Have heard of water condensing on the side of my cold beer glass errr fuel tank.

Do drain a little out of my truck fuel filter every fill up

Make regular checks on the bottom of the tractor fuel tank for water or other debri. Also know I should have a 10 and 12 mil wrench when doing this.

Haven't got a clue on how it works but do know not to use any that has alcohol in it as it is not good for the pumps.
