Digging holes with FEL?

How far to space them depends on how big you plan to let them get. Full size trees, as opposed to dwarf or semi-dwarf varieties can get over 20 feet in diameter, depending on how you prune them. Your state Ag office or one of the Ag Colleges should have information on a website or some other handy source.

I would put them at least 20 or 25 feet apart. Are you going to want to get between the rows with a tractor for spraying, mowing, etc? Be sure to figure your spacing for the full grown trees, no matter how ridiculous it might look when you plant them.

I can vouch for the Dingo, I used to own one and did a fair bit of contracting for landscapers etc digging tree planting holes..

I had the largest of the augers (36 inch I think) and it dug the holes with ease, even in hard gravely ground.

I fact I once had to do some footings for a large building in a difficult to access spot with it. managed to get the holes down to 6 meters with several extension bars.

They are amazing machines with loads of power, worth renting if you can justify it.

Cheers
