I think they would need to know what "End Type 03" is unless that is an industry std they would know.

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

Jim,

It looks like you have a part number for an assembled hose from your tractor manufacturer. We don't have access to their parts database to determine what that part number means, but with an accurate description of your hose, I am confident we could make it for you. We make dozens of custom hose assemblies like this one every day in our shop.

To make any hose assembly, we need to know the following information:

  1. Inside Hose Diameter
  2. Hose Specification (usually an SAE number such as 100R2AT or 100R16). If you don't have a hose specification, we can recommend one based on your application, maximum working pressure, and operating temperature range.
  3. Overall Length (including the fittings)
  4. Size and type of each fitting or end

I can make an educated guess at the first three points based on the info you've provided so far. Your assembly appears to use 1/4" SAE 100R1AT hydraulic hose (2750 PSI MWP) and it appears to be 223 inches in length. Unfortunately, the description you shared doesn't tell me what ends to put on your hose. We need a size and description of these fittings, such as 1/4" NPTF Male Pipe or maybe #4 JIC Female Swivel. Those are two of our most common fittings that we often find on hydraulic hoses. In addition to these common options, we also have a ton of other fittings available, such as O-Ring Face Seal, or British Standard Pipe.

We currently sell 1/4" SAE 100R1AT hydraulic hose for $0.96 per foot. Depending on which fittings you need, your assembled hose, including fittings and assembly charge will probably cost between $20 and $30 plus shipping (about $15 by UPS Ground).

If this is hose you currently need, you can call customer service at 800-535-1302 to place an order. Please be able to identify the fittings as I mentioned above. If you need assistance identifying the fittings, we have an excellent guide available at How to Identify Fluid Ports and Connectors

Thank you for saying this much more concisely than I did!

"End Type 03" is almost certainly an internal identification used by some dealer or manufacturer, and we need an industry standard description such as 1/4" male pipe or something else that we can recognize. Even a hose manufacturers part number, like Weatherhead 04U-104, is something we could cross reference if necessary.

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

I love the website too.

I dont know if I have ever purchased from you, but you are always near the top on my list. However, one of your competitors always seems to be just a tad bit cheaper. But their website isnt as good. I dont go through much hose though.

Any discounts to TBN members??

Type end "03" is a female swivel (Thread Size 0.438 IN) for a JIC fitting(photo attached) so hose will attach to "A" end of fitting in schematic.

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

Jim,

With that additional information, I can determine that you need a 1/4" JIC Female Swivel hose fitting.

I would specify your hose as R1-04 HOSE with FJX-04-04 E/E 223 IN OAL, $35.38 fully assembled.

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

I am tired of paying for over priced hydraulic hoses at the local supplier. Do you have an inexpensive hydraulic crimp tool that won't break the bank for a common everyday man, and the fittings to match.

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

How 'bout no crimp tool at all? DHH sells field attach fittings, so far I've had no problems with them. They consist of a fine threaded inner piece (with the connector of your choice) that has a long, tapered smooth end - The outer is left-hand threaded (coarse threads) - you screw it on the hose, then light lube ( I use never-seez) on the inner insert threads, start it into the hose, the threads catch, and the hose body is trapped between the long smooth taper and the outer coarse threads.

You buy the hose and fittings to match each other.

Field-Attachable (Reusable) Hose Fittings > Discount Hydraulic Hose.com

I had several to do, an impact wrench works if you watch carefully so you don't over-run and strip the threads. I always start them by hand (end wrenches) to be sure they're not cross-threaded... Steve

Re: Discount Hydraulic Hoses

I just got off the phone with a very nice lady named Roberta at Discount Hyd Hose and the hose will be headed to Texas.

Welcome. Nice to see you are located about 45 minutes south of me, off 95 off Aramingo?
It was odd to see Powertrack International listed at your location, as well as yours, according to Google Maps. Just curious.

Nice website, already thinking about replacing the low quality oem hoses on my TSC/Husky wood splitter.
My local NAPA must line their hoses with unobtanium to justify their prices, retail anyway.

Are you web only or can one come and visit? thanks

Two comments about field-attachable or reusable hose ends.

First, make sure you are using the right hose. While crimp fittings can be crimped to different specifications for a few different hoses, field-attachable fittings are very specific. R2 field-attachable fittings can ONLY be used with SAE 100R2AT hydraulic hose. If you try to put these fittings on SAE 100R16 or some other non-R2 hose, you will not get the proper seal between the hose and the fitting.

Also, when you're assembling field-attachable fittings, do NOT overtighten the threads. It's actually best if you tighten them only until the collar and stem come in contact with one another or have a gap about the thickness of your finger nail. They do not need to be tighter, and over tightening may cause unnecessary stress to the fitting.

I have no idea who Powertrack International is. They don't show up on Google Maps when I view our address. Our company name is Hydraulax Products Inc. and that is the name on Google Maps. We have been at this address for decades, so I don't know why Google Maps would show you any other business at this location. For reference, the building right next to us belongs to M Rosenblatt Roofing.

Hydraulax does have a walk-up parts counter at our location, but you'll find the best prices are had buy ordering online from DiscountHydraulicHose.com

I would suggest the D100H Portable Hose Crimper, $1665 when you buy online.

Die sets are sold separately and most are under $200. It will crimp almost all 2-wire hoses and fittings up to 1" I.D.

I agree, When I look for Powertrack, they come up as being in Pittsburgh, not Philly.
