He replaced them both so which one is bad? Don't read too much into this as I bought six for 10.00

Great thread. As an aspiring DIY'er since I live, surprise, out in the boonies I wonder if I could be so bold as to request a few pics detailing what you ran into. I'm not overly familiar with the layout and pics help me reference your explanation. It's hard to see if you've never seen it. Totally understand if you don't have time. I bought second hand and I'm not even sure if I have the right manual. Kioti seems a very confusing company. I like the tractor but they don't explain it very well and as we have seen on this forum it's not like they don't break down.

You have a 2005 DK so be aware that while we all refer to the DK series as DK, there was a major change in 2007 when the DKse series was introduced. The general maintenance issues should be the same but don't expect specific motor info to be identical.

As Island Tractor said, you have an earlier model DK. You can figure out if the manual you have is correct by the serial number of your tractor, which you can post here and we can help you figure out exactly what you have. Pics from the above problem solve might not be of much use to your specific machine. I suggest instead you post whatever issue you may run into with your tractor here and we can help you find a solution on a case specific basis, as was done here.

OK that is great information regarding year and manual. I do have a manual I downloaded but have no idea whether it is the correct manual. I'll post the number here and will be glad to get your input. Stay tuned.

OK back home and got the number off the tractor. It is 356700670. Anyone able to interpret this?

Should have a alphabet code at the start of serial #. mine starts like KT. my # is at the front right right in front of the axle

The tag is pretty weathered (all silver), There is some more lettering on it above this number. I can make out Daedong and Wilson. The tag is located on the left side just ahead of the front axle on the frame that supports the brush guard. I can see no letter at the beginning of the numbers. One of the owner manuals that I have says that the tag is located on the transmission housing on the left side. I did a quick look and could see no tag there.
