The crew at Batch's are awesome...

Yes, they did a great job.

What a different load rear tires make! Each tire has 50 gallons Ballast Star which is approximately 550 lbs per wheel. Not only does this keeps the rear end from lifting when the FEL hooks up on a root but now I rarely need to use 4 wheel drive. Why did I even question if I needed the weight when I first purchased the tractor.

Hey guys, I heard from my dealer today about the squealing sounds. According to Kioti they are fully aware of this squeal and are trying to actually determine where the sound is coming from. They do know that has something to do with harmonics in the steel lines. It isn't only on DK tractors, and not all DK's do it. The good thing is there has not been a failure to their knowledge due to the noise. My dealer has been very honest and upfront with me here. He has been very helpful with any questions that I have had and has always promptly returned my call. He said that Kioti is working on the problem and will get a solution for the problem.

Kiotisooner,
I was told the same thing back in July. Plus the noise or harmonics is occurring due to cavitations in the hydraulic system. For my tractor the cavitations only occurs in reverse, coming to a stop, or when slowly going down a hill. If the cavitation was occurring in the pre-charge line for the HST this would occur all the time, it doesn't. Kioti replaced the steel supply line between the HST filter and the HST pre-charge input on my tractor with a flexible line. This reduced the conversion of the cavitations into a hearable sound or harmonics, but the cavitations are still there. The flexible line works like a muffler to reduce the conversion of the cavitations to harmonics.

My primary concern is the consequences of cavitation in a hydraulic system can be serious. Cavitation causes metal erosion, which damages hydraulic components and contaminates the fluid. In extreme cases, cavitation can cause mechanical failure of system components. If Kioti really believes there will be no long term consequences they should extend the warranty for the HST for the owners affected by this issue in addition to muffling the noise.

I would be for an extended warranty. I hope that Kioti will continue to look into the problem. It's not a good feeling to spend around 25k on a new tractor and it have odd noises. I feel confident that they will get it solved.

I am for BOTH the extended warranty AND a fix.

With over 2,800 folks having looked at this string of comments over the past few weeks it seems obvious something is wrong and, as it is mechanical, I believe it can (and should) be fixed if there is a will to do so.

KIOTI - are you listening? There have been some good suggestion in narrowing down the source of the squeal from folks much more knowledgeable than me. Can someone from KIOTI put our minds to rest on this issue soon?

Wonder if the ever present and always appreciated Rick Wallace has had any of his machines (in either colour) afflicted with this noise issue.

Katty, I watched the video and WOW is all I can say! My tractor has a lower pitched squeal than that. Mine sounds just like a brake on a car that the pads are worn down on. I know the video may make it sound a little different, but it sure sounds loud to me.

Just wanted to bump this and see if there has been any progress.

I spoke with my dealer last week and he will look at this noise issue during my 50 hour service but he has not heard from any other owners about the squeal.

His mechanic said he will submit a report to Kioti service so if there is any future issue it will be on record as having been identified within the warranty period.

I haven't heard a thing. :(

I haven't heard anything either. I went ahead and did my 50 hour service. I pulled the bottom drain plug for the HST and expected to find some shavings. Not one speck of metal. Fluid was very clean.

Guys I have not had any customers say anything to me...either color.
Now I know my orange 40 will have a slight squeal to it when I push it to far and that is the relief kicking. My white 40 will do the same thing but I do not have anything as some of you guys have described.

I'm still pushing the dealer to get this resolved. I attached a video showing the RPMs and direction of the tractor. You can clearly hear the squeal. The video starts with the sound occuring. When I push the forward pedal the squeal goes away. When the reverse pedal is pushed the sound starts again. When I release the reverse pedal the squeal may continue to occur until the forward petal is pushed. There is no load on the tractor.

I have not troubleshooted the problem yet, I focused on getting a good video to send to the dealer.
