Once opened is correct. A warmer thermostat raises the operating temperature of the engine. The new minimum is now the new thermostat rating. All Kioti tractors have two white dots on the temp gauge. The operating temp is always at this point. It is engineered this way. Especially for a tier IV engine. It the temperature goes above this point something is wrong. As I said before, heat kills engines. Don't mess with the engineered operating temp.

The cab is heated by coolant. No electric heat. This is a non issue. Once the tractor starts working the temp comes up and you take your coat off.

White dots? I did not see any dots or hashmarks in the video I made of the NX6010.

To the OP: You want to change out the factory T-stat, knock yourself out. You're not listening to those who know more about these tractors and their proper operation, from first hand experience, so you'll be on your own on this soon enough. I for one know exactly how they work from owning and running a foreign auto repair shop here in the mountains of Vermont for over ten years, working on diesel Benzes, Volvos, VWs, etc. And running a DK-35 and Dk-40 for over 1000 hours combined, in all the extremes of hot and cold we've experienced here in the last 5-6 years. You will overheat in summer. These tractors mostly run on the cold minimum reading on the gauge, and never overheat unless excessive chaff is caught on the radiator pre-screen. AND they don't take 20 minutes to come to temperature; wherever you're getting that time-frame from it's wrong. 10 minutes, maybe slightly more at best and up to operating temps for a non-cabbed model. I can't speak to how long it takes to get full heat into a cabbed model, but others here can.
Let's move on to other issues if any.

You see those 3 white lines in the middle of the gauge. The they indicate the normal temp range of operating the machine.

If I understand correctly, the machine I was in after having run for 25-30 minutes, getting revved up, and whatever else, still had not warmed up?

Sweet: we're in agreement that if something takes 20 minutes to warm up, something 'ain't right.

You're reading what you want to into what I and others have said. For the final time: There is NOTHING wrong with the Kioti factory T-stats or the engine warm-up timeframe.

CM out

I'm being polite because it is clear to me that you did not read through the process a good tech will work through to determine if a higher temp T-stat would be useful or not based on actual test results.

I thank you for your additional thoughts and will be tickled pink when we can move beyond talking about T-stats and get back to talking about features. :)
