You really should get a backhoe. The Tank deserves a Bradco 511 backhoe. You've even got the flow to support it.

Then you would beat me on weight easily! ;)

Don't tempt me man! ;) I'm guessing that the Tank and the Red Beast could easily do it together!!! :D

No luck finding a new tracked playmate for the red beast?

No way, go for the Bradco 611. Same size, more power! More power is good :D

Not yet. The ASV's are soooooo expensive, but that's what I would want. None of the other brands/models seem appropriate for my business and/or worth the investment.

Also understand that I'm in the process of reassessing everything in this funny little business. September marks one full year in business... and also marks the end of my year one capital and start-up expenses budgets. I was supposed to be on cruise control by now... but I am far from it. I need to figure out where I go from here... and what it's going to take in terms of new acquisitions, if any.

Well, good point. But Ed's only got 11 GPM to work with... so buying a 611 might mean buying a PTO pump as well. He's certainly got a heavy machine to work with, but I'm not even sure he needs a backhoe at this point other than for the purpose of out-weighing my machine! :D

Heck I don't need no backhoe. If I need more weight I just go to the shop. Already thinking about wheel weights, simple to make on the FBB machine (CNC Plasma cutter and punch combined). If I want more counterweight on the back I can just jump up a couple of beam sizes. Right now the one I have is a W14x143, if I go to a W14x730 that would make the counterwieght around 2200 pounds. Think that's enough?

I just compared the 4110 to the 4530, take the back hoe out of the picture and I have 1700 + pounds on ya.

Wait news flash, been doing more research. 4110 --weight 3969 pounds, 509 back hoe--weight 1425 pounds, for a combined weight of 5494 pounds.
I have excluded the FEL because I can't find a weight, so we will call the FEL's equal.
4530 curb weight no back hoe 5720 pounds.

Now you know why I call it The Tank. Looks like I still got a couple hundred pounds on ya Doug. :D :D

  Wanna have a tractor pull ?

Doug talked to the excavation contractor at work today. Explained the rocks to him. He thinks a 310 should be able to move them.

Error... Error... Error. You are not including the entire subframe assembly (including removable section), bucket or hydraulic thumb. The grand total is a bit over two grand.

I don't think so... not unless you cheat with added weights (which I can do too)!!! :D

Interesting. I'll have more size/weight data on the rocks after Friday. Didn't have time to take pix or measurements today... and I'm picking up my new CAT digging bucket tomorrow in Rhode Island... so a day off.

Ok. With the sub frame I'll give ya the 2 grand, but that only puts you at 250 to the good. I'll bet Jeremy will tell me that the 245 FEL has at least that on the 112FEL:D
I have the option of adding the counterweight on in about 5 minutes, that will give me an additional 1300 pounds in a flash.

I'll bet it's in that ballpark... i.e., ~250 pounds (+/-) heavier. Shall we therefore call it about even??? :D Or shall we go find a scale!!! :)

And I have the option of hanging two 1-ton weights off each side... ... BIG DEAL!!! That is what they call cheating. ;)
