So I got stuck. I was clearing some 30-year overgrown woodland. Lots of wild roses, little trees, wild bushes, brambles, etc.
I've been stuck before. I drop my loader implement to the ground, dig in a little, and roll the thing forward while going in reverse (or the other way depending)
But this one was a doozy
Facing downhill in wet earth, I was stuck. The front was slewing sideways. My frontend loader trick only sort of worked.

And then I looked behind me. My Ballast is on my 3-point it's a huge old 500-pound wood stove filled with rocks about 1200# in all.
In all the excitement I must a bumped the three-point control lever and dropped it.
Once I picked the thing back up all was right in the world.
DOH~!!

My parking brake had been removed by the previous owner (why I'll never understand), so I usually use what ever is on the three point as a drag brake. It's usually either a ballast box or a box blade. I have gouged more driveway and ripped up more driveway than I care to admit. :-(

I put check chains on my 3PH and never have to worry about it "dropping"...

Two time I have stuck my SCUT, and both times had to use Jeep and recovery winch to rescue it....

...use what ever is on the three point as a drag brake...
I do the same thing, BUT after turning the tractor off and dropping the 3 point hitch, I go ahead and raise up the 3 point hitch lever to the highest point. Once you start the tractor, it automatically raises the hitch so it doesn't dig in when you move but it still works as a boat anchor when the tractor is off.

I also have a step on the left side so moving the 3 point hitch to it's highest spot, allows me to get on the tractor from the left side.
