It's not uncommon for them to leak a little while pumping because there is no seal in the piston. Just so they don't leak when screwed down, that's the main thing.

well i put a few gallons of fresh diesel in the tank and let it run thru the line a bit then installed the banjo bolt, pumped the hand pump around 30 times, then loosened each hard line at the injector one at a time and turned it over untill fuel spirted out then hit that hand pump again maby 30 or 40 times and it never got tight the first time or this time, but i tryed to start the eng and it still was a no go, then i drained the oil out of the motor to see if I was missing some rad fluid that might be getting in there from a blown head gasket and the oil was black and no water, could I have a bad injector or a few of them and thats what wont let it run ?

also does anyone know of replacement filter numbers from wix or any other company for the oil and fuel filter thanks

A 3 cylinder diesel can start/run on only one cylinder. Rough and smokey, but it runs. I've seen it happen on mine in very cold weather. One cylinder will catch, then in a few seconds another and another will catch as their cylinder temps rise from the repeated compression. Whatever your problem is, seems common to all three cylinders. Given that it sat idle for so many years, I suppose there's a chance that all 3 injectors have gummed up - or even rusted shut.Think I may have seen someone earlier recommend you remove the fuel injectors - and reattach the hard lines - to see if the injectors actually pop/spray when you crank the engine. Have you tried that yet?

I agree. If there is no spray pattern, or if they dribble inbetween "pops" they need to be replaced. These injectors are inexpensive so it's not economical to take them to a diesel shop for cleaning.

Yes, there are copper washers under the injectors which can be re-used if they are clean and still soft. Make sure the injector bores are very clean.
Not sure about filter crossover numbers because some filter heads are metric and some are SAE straight thread. Also, some filters have domed thread bosses and others don't. Best to find out which you have before calling a parts house.
